kapu have many sub caste like balija who come under bc,obc and forward caste as well, because in modern times irrespective to the caste many of them progressed well. due to rise in land value, education and other stuff
same with yadavs in telangana. most of the politicians are from this caste
coming to brahmins most of them are from middle class to few upper middle class, you won't find many poor or very rich brahmins.in olden days we had brahmins politicians from sarvepalli radhakrishna,VV giri both were presidents of india, our first chief minister was famous tangutori praksham pantulu(pantulu similar to pandit),in modern times their representation is low though, but high in literature, film industry,as well as sports stars two players representing india cricket team are brahmins vvs laxman and rohit sharma
Cricket traditionally was brahmin dominated. Gavaskar Venkat probably prasanna wadekar most Tamil nadu players - ashwin Vijay Badri karthik -partasarathy sharma of eighties VV Kumar kalyanasundaram mukund of seventies dilip fishing of seventies and yes as babloos reminds us srt
Probably Due to more access to the game and to bias
Even people who are in cricket are excellent too, be it brahmin or not, being in sports always requires excellence, that is the point I wish to make, often hated by everyone, pundas never proved second to anyone when it comes to excellence but when they become Vishwanathan Anand then it might be bias but when paes becomes champ it is handwork.
