What time of year do you visit Pakistan?

When my older children wer you ger we would go a week before christmans holidays and stay for 3 weeks in total in December or Easter holidays again take another week off school.
That is no longer possibile because of stricter school rules and as they are in high school I wouldn’t want to disrupt their studies to go. Problem is summer holidays is juat too hot to go their and the loadshedding problem is something I couldn’t cope with.

What do others here do?

I don’t have that problem yet, my kids have just started school n we just went in February before she started school. So we won’t be going for another 2-3 years n I thought we would just go at Easter and take off another week as you said. But if the school won’t let us then we will just go for 2 weeks over Easter as I know kids will not b able to handle the heat in the summer. What other solution is there? Surely the school will let you take a week off before Christmas if the exams are over, as you normally don’t do much or any work during the last week.

I know when they are older we will probably just leave them behind at home n go ourselves.

Most people go in the summer and are not bothered by the heat. But if I were in your place I would go for the number of weeks the school vacations allow in December. Really, I wouldn’t go in the summer either. Remember in many families both parents work and can’t stay for longer than 2 weeks with their families in Pakistan.
