Arain - Alleged relationship with Kamboj but defunct - most prevalent background about Arain is confirmed by my late grandfather - we are descendents of the people of Jericho (Areeha) western edge of ancient Palestine (present - Syria), who were led by Muhammad bin Qasim after the campaign our forefathers settled and became farmers.

Family origin for at least 4 generations = Punjab (Lahore)

The other plausible but lesser explanation is the link with the word Arayan - which still implies settlers from the western territories.

@Syria">lol@Syria.. a lot of pakistanis seems to have stories of being arab.. whats wrong with being punjabi? yesterday i saw some kashmiri uncle's blog where he was presenting the case of how he and his family look arab/turkish to TSA crew, and has decided his ancestors were albanian turks who migrated to pakistan. and that his last name of "bhopal" is a lost tribe of israel.

^ True that.......its something most people think will make them 'purer' muslims or whatever.....its mostly bull.....miniscule percentage of people might have arab ancestry...

If they do have an Arab connection then take it as it is, no one is making himself looking purer than others, it's in your own head.

If Muslims had not migrated from Arabian Peninsula, the message of Islam would have stayed in that particular region. In last 1400 years, the Muslims of Arab took the message of Islam with them, wherever they went (imo). It is safe to conclude, therefore, that a good number of Muslims have Arab ancestry, one way or another.

But I don’t see EVERY caste making this claim. Some are descendants of Persians as well as Indigenous Australians and some are descendants of Changez Khan. Doesn’t mean they are wrong or they are purer.

"All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves."
