What a shame!
Talking into the lucht means nothing. So, do not engage in useless activities and don't try to waste my time.

The Kashmir Problem is yet another reminder of the many mistakes made by the Muslim League.
The Partition of India gave birth to the
1.Kashmir Problem
3.The Problems in Karachi
Unaffordable Military Budgets
The Death of 3 million people
The Issue of Nuclear Extinction.
Three open wars.
Counter Intelligence war still in Process along with Light Artillery fire exchange on a daily basis at common border.
Border and Trade Restrictions.
Safe Haven for Feudal Law in Pakistan.
Loss of Credibility in the International Community.
Brain Drain.
Partition was a mistake; Peace is the only solution
Sorry guys, i tried to cut it down. not very successfull. really don't have the time either.
EH kashmir ek din their jannat main ayinga hum.
The battle cry of Kashmiri’s has been stated for over 50 years to no avail. Before you think this is a pro-Kashmiri liberation propaganda spiel, my focus will be why there has been no resolution to the issue.
I. There is a strong influence of global powers.
A. Britain has no reason to interfer.
1. They created the situation.
B. US will not intervene.
Pakistan had strategic importance during cold war, Afghanistan war. US would maintain stability because of fears that unstable region would be easy for USSR to attain access to the Indian ocean.
In addition, American current interest in Indian economy and business further damaged Pakistan’s position. America wishes to trade with India and will not harm their own chances in order to ally with or further Pakistan’s domestic position. They have no reason to.
C. Muslim countries have recognized the conflict in the region and denounced the treatment of Kashmiri’s in religious sermons. However, those Muslim countries are in no political position to induce Kashmir freedom, and they have no reason to become involved.
II. What pakistan has done.
A. After partition Pakistan needed to set up a governmental structure and advance and unite their people. What would be considered a preferential Federal policy. In addition, Pakistan spent a lot of money modernizing Azad Kashmir, from building roads, to electricity and telephone lines. So much so that a Pakistani village opposite to an Azad Kashmir village complained to their elected officer that the Azad Kashmiri’s have water lines, electricity, telephones and asphalt roads, while that Pakistani village had none of those modern amenities
III. After partition India also gave special preference to Muslims and low cast members.
A. Muslims received lenient entree to colleges, jobs, etc. because of previous historic discrimination and India’s desire to prove that Muslims would not be discriminated against in a Hindu majority country.
IV. Therefore, Kashmiri’s have benefited from the war over their country, however, this special status in probability will not last long. Resolution to the Kashmiri issue is desired by both governments, and the Pakistani government has stated that without a resolution they would decrease the investment and economic support in the area.
V. What kashmiris have done
A. Kashmiri’s have through the auspices of the United Nations attempted and gained international approval for a plebiscite to ascertain the position of the Kashmiri’s.
B. However, the Indian government has denied this by reason of loss of their own sovereignty. Second Kashmiri’s have attempted to promote the Human rights issues with the international community and though amnesty international recognizes this it really has done the Kashmiri’s very little. However Kashmiri militant kidnapping of Western toursit does not bode well for sympathy.
VI. Why should kashmir be an independent country? (odd from a kashmiri- I know but this is political ?)
A. There is no reason for Kashmir to gain independent statehood. There is no oil, no great trade resources internationally, no nuclear weapons and their bonds are either l with other Kashmiri’s in Pakistan or with Muslims. Kashmir is too economically dependent and integrated into both the Indian and Pakistani economies. A drastic change in regional situations would have to occur.
VII. There are only two alternatives to resolution of "the Kashmir issue", either Pakistan or India would secure Kashmir.
A. The possibility of India allowing Kashmir and other ethnic insurgent states increased autonomy or freedom is improbable. This move would be totally against the basis of India’s formation and potentially commence the break down of India, Punjabi Sikhs already wish for an autonomous state.
B. If India was destabilized economically or militarily and world interest increase in the human rights issues, Pakistan could justify involvement in Kashmiri freedom movements.
VIII. The other alternative is increase Kashmiri desires to remain in the Indian nation.
A. India would need to foster a sense of Indian Nationalism for the Kashmiris and a desire to remain with India because it would be the better option.
B. India’s recent strong-arm tactics do not create attachment and oppression will take many years or never be forgotten. India needs to gain a sense that retaining Kashmir was creating problems for them internationally and domestically. However, this is unlikely since the US has ignored human rights issues in order to maintain economic ties for example, China.
C. India could possibly resolve the issue. However, they have very little reason to do so unless the domestic instability is so vast that it begins to effect foreign investment into India.
I really do not see an easy resolution to the ethnic conflict. Pakistan has not and could not win a war with India for Kashmir, in addition they would not have any US or Russian support. Both sides have rationale to maintain their sovereignty over Kashmir and the Kashmiri people themselves have very little political power to gain any strong international support.
If you got this far...
thanks so much :)

jez no offense taken but you do realize that country politics is often a means for the country's politician to manipulate their political position nationally and internationally. really no one cares about the Kashmir but just how that effects their standing. Its like two kids fighting over a ball, no one wants to back down.
Kashmirigirl,
You did a great job and see if you look like this so relaxed after:

the British gave each state the RIGhT to vote to join india or pakistan.
why do you think that even though the hydrabadi ruler was muslim the state still went to india?
Kashmir was supposed to go to pakistan it was Indian greed that prevented it.
The ultimate solution:
Get Kashmir liberated by force.Period!

Rubiya, I liked the paintings very much!
Adaab again and yes, they are gorgeous!!
After exams I plan to try to print them out and put them in frames - if the quality is good I'll tell you.
Hey, when you are a poor student like myself, you have to remain within your budget, which at the moment is in the red!!
