I mean as in activities, what should she know, and do. Is it her responsibility to get up at7am to make her FIL AND MIL breakfast, and stuff like this.....whats her responsibilty?
and for a DIL who doesnt wake up at8am, or doesnt run around all day trying to clear up/impress inlaws, and doesnt rush to pick up a plate her FIL OR MIL was picking up off floor etc what do people think of such DIL;s.....

its different in each household.....first few days you will probably be allowed to chill.......but slowly your husband and others will let you know what they expect of you....u need to talk to ur husband about what the family expects of you......

Are you kidding? That is perfect!!! Naivete and cluelessness are the top most qualities that any bhabi should have. That way she can be molded into exactly the kind of Sati Savitri they have in mind. You are on the right track! :k:

I think as a DIL of the house, you want to make a good impression but not a fake one either. You don' t want to go into a home and do whatever you are comfertable doing and not go over board. If you decide you do want to do your in-law's khidmat, which is great but remember that thats something you're going to have to keep up. If after few months you decide you no longer want to do it anymore, they will be used to your "service". But you also don't want to go there and act like a princess and sit on your butt all day. Be kind and treat them like you would treat your own parents.
I think that as DIL, we can win our parents-in-law over, it just takes sometime. Have a good intention

she should be like mother to younger ones and like a daughter to older ones...i've a bhabhi just like that...she raised us like her own children after my mom died at an early age. alHamdolillah! i treat her as my own mother :)

just dont do anything u dont want to do forever...
like I started helping out a little bit in the beginning to be nice and stuff and now I do dishes at dawaats, take care of and feed their kids, drive them around to shop, and cook (twice) for dawaats.
And I am not even married yet!!
