Im kind of confused if a lehnga/maxi on the bride might look odd in a masjid?
Everyone is telling me to wear shalwar kameez, but i really dont like that on brides. I thought of wearing a simple lehnga or maxi instead.
What do you think?

Are you having an event or a dinner afterwards? Is it the same day as baraat? Are you inviting lots of people to the nikah, or keeping it private? I say you're the bride, this is the only time that noone can say you're overdressed, so go for it. :)

Wear something simple in Masjid, have something ready as soon as you get home. Or take an abaya with you to masjid and just cover up when you go out. Oh and blessing and mubarak both for the wedding and also for doing it in the masjid islamically.

So long as you're covered appropriately, I don't see why a lehenga or maxi wouldn't work in a masjid. I say go for it! It's your wedding! :)
one of my friends wore a gorgeous gharara her in laws gave her. Since everyone was dressed up, she didn't look or feel at all out of place.

wear nice formal anarkali churidar dress.

Wear something flowy :) just be modest and you are good to go :)

I wore a tailed kameez with churidaar on my nikaah in the masjid, hair makeup etc as we had the registry wedding first in town, and then made our way to the mosque, as we had all the immediate family yhere it was nice to be able to dress up for the main part of my wedding

Also to clarify the men were in the main mosque and women in the community hall attached to it, during the nikaah, so if your setting is like thay then yeeh just dress up how u like! X
