what should I give her?

My daughter is feeling sick. Shes actually been throwing up a lot. What can I give her to eat or what medicine should I give her?

Re: what should I give her?

did she eat something dodgy and is that why she is throwing up?

if thats the case, then it may be food poisioning.....in that case, its good that she throws up to get rid of the dodgy food she has ate so that it doesnt do any harm in the body.

I personally feel bananas help to stop vomiting....talking from experience....

Re: what should I give her?

Its best not to try giving her food until she hasn't vomited for a while. But she does need fluids so she doesnt get dehydrated. There's a children's hydration formula called PediaLyte, it comes in drinkable form but also ice pops. If you cant find that, then the sports drinks like Gatorade are good too. Once she can hold down fluids without vomiting, try the BRAT diet - small amounts of Bananas, Rice, Apples or Toast. I hope she feels better soon.

Re: what should I give her?

OK not joking,

take her to the doc. please.

Re: what should I give her?

Shes been sick 5 times already and the last few times it was only water cos thats all shes had. All she had for breakfast was a toasted croissant. And later she had half an orange.
Do you think I should take her to A & E if it continues into the evening? Cos theres no Doctors open.

Re: what should I give her?

First, you should find out the cause. How can someone suggest anything without knowing the cause? There could be many causes for throwing up.

Mine used to be dehyderation. My mom used to cure by forcing me to take lots of liquid, water melon, sugar cane, glucose. I tried anti-vomiting tablets but it had adverse effect. so, you should first try to find out the cause.

Re: what should I give her?

Shes just been sick again. she had a tiny piece of bread and started vomiting again. It was all water.
How can I find the cause?

Re: what should I give her?

Try giving her some glucose or make her eat lots of water melon. If that gets better, it is cz of dehyderation. If not then some other cause. Once I happened to have ameba in my stomach/intestine. That also makes you vomit everything you eat/drink.

Re: what should I give her?

she also keeps getting a tummy ache.

Re: what should I give her?

That could be cz her tummy is empty or could be something else. Well, why arent you taking her to the doctor?
