Re: What shades are these?

I love the color in the 2nd picture!

Ok that seems to be light brown on the golden side with higlitghts and lowlights and second one seems like medium brown on the warm side. If you are coloring your hair for the first time, they might be able to give you a light a light brown color but if you want depth then you should get the hilights n lowlights which are pricier. The second color is nice and I think you should get that because it can be achieved with all over single process color and it wont damage your hair too too much. the lighter you go, the more you are stripping your natural hair by lifting color and the more damage you will cause atleast that is what hair stylist have told me. If you love the first one tell her you want light brown as light as its possible for your hair to go, do light brown and run a gold toner wash thru it. Its best you take the picsto her and let her help you decide.

Re: What shades are these?

These look like "chestnut" colored hair color...and this is the color that I plan to dye my hair too...However with our normal desi dark hair colors, buying the same color box at the store and dying it at home, WILL NOT give you the same color....the reason because when we try to dye our black/dark brown hair color lighter the only color that will come out in going lighter is a blondish/reddish golden color (if you haven't noticed all desi's have the same hair color when they dye it "brown") that is the reason why. The color in those pictures are "chestnut" brown color which is a "cooler" brown rather than "warmer" brown...chestnut brown hair color is a color that you are born with (and I'm sure you see alot of white people with it...well, .it's their natural color)...The only way to get this color would be to "bleach your hair" then dye it the color on the box...and it will come out exactly the same way...since it's a bit complicated I highly recommend you to go to a really good and experienced hair salon and let them know that you would like to bleach your hair, before dying it the chestnut brown color, because that is the only way it will be achieved....

hope it helped!
