What rights do Muslim females have ..

Xtreme,
For once, I really enjoyed reading one of your posts! This was a good article, and I will show it to other people. If only present-day Muslims truly followed these ideals, the (Muslim) world would be a better place!

Well that's probably because I didn't write it! ;)

Still...even crumbs from the table are welcome for me...

BTW, if you liked that article you should probably check out the rest of the site. It deals with a lot of these type of questions.

No religion has come close to Islam in this matter. People who have studied Islam, even of other religions, have come to admit that Islam's stand in this issue is strongest and most just. However, even we the Muslims have some misconceptions about this and our stand on this. Now what I am gonna say is going to be from my little knowledge of Islam and my own beliefs and ideas.

A woman and a man are two different beings and creations quite different from each other. I think every body will agree to this. They are different physically and mentally. There are things that men can do and which is very difficult for women to do. Today's women talk of equality with men and being given the same rights and treatment as men but if they are stuck with a punctured tire of the car, they stand aside and ask a man " Bhai plz meri gari ka tire too badal do." The way men and women think is also very different. All this has now been scientifically proven. However, there are many things in which women excel and which men can never do.

A woman is probably the most beautiful living thing that God has created. She is most beautiful not only physically but also in her heart. She is like a very delicate flower which at too much of disturbance can be withered and loses its shape. I just came up with a metaphor? In my mind; a man and a woman can be compared with a tree and flower under its gentle shadow which allows sunshine and protects it.

Women say that men have failed in ruling the world(too much injustice), now women should get their chance. Well what do they mean? First of all men have not failed (we'll discuss this later). Secondly, do they want us to present "chance" in a golden platter? In this world nobody is presented chances; they are always there u have to grab them. The mere fact that there have been few women who have come up and achieved the highest accolade tells us that women are not meant for leadership in the way they are trying to get these days. Most of the popular women have been people like Hazrat Merriam, Hazrat Fatima, Cleopatra, even Asma Jehangir. They have done what suits them best and at which they are most capable of. Hope you are getting what I am trying to say.

Please don't think I am against women's equality. Yes they should be given equal rights but of a different kind. In fact, they are given more rights at times then men. For example, a woman does not have to work in order to earn her living. She is to be provided of all her necessities by either her father, then her husband, if he is not there then her brother, then her son, then her uncle, and if she does not have any relatives then she becomes the responsibility of the state. However, if she wishes she is not stopped from working besides men. In today's environment this should be encouraged. There are many great names who have done men's jobs and excelled in it like Razia Sultana but they are rare. There are many fields in which woman can easily outclass men and in which they would feel very comfortable. Moreover, women are most respected individuals whether they are mothers, sisters, wives, daughters or even just women with no relations with you. Even if we do not know a woman we speak to her a lot sweetly and softly than we do with normal men :). Though, every individual should be respected but women I think should be respected and taken care of especially a lot more than men not only because they are the weaker sex but also because they deserve more respect, honor and dignity. They are the mothers of our future and sister's of our brothers. All of u know how important a mother or a sister can be. They also deserve it more because they are probably more admirable. Rasull-Allah (PBUH) said that teaching a man is teaching an individual and teaching a women is teaching a whole family.

As far as some issues like inheritance are concerned. The men are given the share because in this world they face a much tougher life. They have their family to support and lot of other issues to take care of. Whereas, a woman does not have any such responsibilities.

Women can play a great role in development of a very beautiful and healthy society and culture. The only thing is they need to truly understand their very great potential and use it in a proper and systematic way. May Allah the most bountiful help our women follow Hazrat Mariam and Hazrat Fatima and choose the right path that can take our nation to stand high in the community of nations. Amen!
