This thread brought to my mind, after a long time, what my secondary school teacher used to say to us when we used to ask such questions about life and time;

"You are not wasting time, time is wasting you" and recently I was advised "Don't procrastinate, make your moments valuable by doing valuable deeds, so that your soul becomes valuable in front of Allah (swt), forever, in the life hereafter."
