When my sister-in-law had her last baby (who is now 8 mashAllah), for the last month and for a few months after he was born, my dad used to walk to their house, pick the girls up and then take them to school and then pick them up from school and take them home.

Can’t this post stay in the “bad things inlaws did to you thread” rather than spoil a positive one..
In Islam, you’re meant to focus on the positives.. there must be one day where someones inlaw did a nice thing.. come on tell me Korn666 with a straight face that they have never ever done one nice thing for you .. just one?
Don’t mean to jump on the “you cut me deep shrek real deep” posters but positivity once a while won’t do any of you any harm

Biggest thing a in law can / have done for you is take YOU as their daughter in law .. isnt this big and nice

My in-Laws have ALWAYS been nice to me....Allhumdulliah I have NO complains/worries....
I can't list it down since they are a caring and pampering lot....day in and day out....even during the wedding planning and wedding stage everything was done exactly to my liking....1.5 years later nothing has changed....I am blessed, indeed. (Allhumdulliah)
Sorry, can’t contribute thread wise as have no inlaws yet…but really, this thread is a sigh of relief amongst the bad/evil inlaws stories

I think just as DIL has to make an adjustment so do parents in law with a new member in the family. If you get respect and some love, that's enough.

I havent spent much time with my inlaws per se but I have to say my parents in law raised the best guy in the world.. he is a wonderful husband and I dun think they need to do anything more to make me feel thankful to them!!
On a side note, my father in law made me halwa, that I was craving, in the month of July in the heat of Pakistan.. it took him five hours while I was sleeping (jet lagged) and he was drenched in sweat! I was amazingly shocked but man that halwa was GOOOD!!!

Aww that is sweet GtG.. I am really grateful for that my inlaws are sweet, I see what my parents do for my sis in law and also what sometimes my bhabhi's reactions..sometimes nice and sometimes unappreciative and I try and learn not to make the same mistakes as them
They're is a benefit in marrying late.. You learn not to make the same mistakes others before have..
although i have a problem with my MIL my FIL is a really nice.
every thursday he would make chicken and bring it to my house. whenever there was a knock on the door i knew it was him and wud call it uncles handi, he wud laugh and say no its not uncles handi its chicken handi.

when i first got married, MIL was visiting from pak n i heard that her other dil works like a slave so i used to try n get up extra early, make her breakfast, cook, clean, everything so she cant complain when comparing me to other bahus. after trying to stop me for a week she called up my mom n tells her she's embarassed when i do so much work in front of her n to plz tell me to reelax. lol.
she spent alottt of time n effort on my wedding clothes, jewelery, etc eventho she was sick (cancer patient) and alone (my FIL died yrs ago). she haggled like crazy, even with big designers n didnt even complain abt havin to do everything in paki summer heat. awww i miss her now :(

My MIL is great. She is always thinking of others, and always wants to talk to me and my family.

Not in laws yet. But his sister is the sweeeeetest girl. And I found out that his mom likes me!!! :D :D :D

not married yet. but engaged. My MIL makes me a new outfit for every occasion (her choice is good). She always asks my fiance about me, and how Im doing. And she always tells her daughters and my fiance, that everything at the wedding should go the way I want it, and she wants to make sure that all my clothes and jewelry are made to my taste for the wedding.
