My son will be 2 1/2 year old when i go to pakistan. Recently a friend of mine took her 2 year old and he was drinking cow’s milk there and he had diarreoah through out the trip.
I hear tetra pak’s are very unhealthy in Pakistan since they contain lots of chemicals.
So what did you guys do? were any of you in that situation?
Shoul i use a regular buffalo’s milk? or cow’s?
or should i just take milk from here?
Re: what milk to give to 2 1/2 year old on a trip to pakistan?
Enfalac / Enfapro are very easily available here now.
Other than that NIDO is the best option.
Cow's milk is not even suitable for adults how can it be for such a young baby.
But your friend should either boil the water or use filtered water for making/dissolving milk powder..............it's a must because no matter how good the formula is if the water is not clean the end result (milk) will not be fit for the baby.

Well, My son is 2 1/2 year old and he DOES NOT drink formula any more. He drinks regular whole milk. I tried giving him NIDO and he literally starts throwing up on it after a sip and gives it back to me telling me to bring "THE MILK".
So Nido doesnt work and formula he is off from.... i wanted to hear some whole milk options.
I guess i can take "PArmalat" boxes from here... but thinking of three week, i might need about 25 boxes of Parmalat. Which doesnt sound very convienient :)

I don't know if Pakistan allow you to take this in with you, but how about those cartons of UHT long life milk? Unopened it has a shelf life of almost a year, and once opened is to be treated like normal milk. It tastes just like milk.

I'd say then its better to stick with tetra pack milk like NESTLE (as Iyla mentioned) because no way the milk from the local doodh wala is safe & hygienic.

Olpers is pretty good milk too - my nand's boys are on Olpers and it works fine - All the kids that go from the US/Canada drink it too and it tastes pretty good :)

I think I would just take it.
This reminds me of when I was in Pak a while back (I was about 22) and started craving milk. Had a big glass with cookies. MAN was I sick after that, and I was fully grown!
