The intelligence agencies should know very well where they get inculcated in extremism. So why is no action taken against those madressahs?
And before anyone says it, I know that not everyone from those madressahs turn up a suicide bomber. But it is clear that the basic ideology of hatred is propagated there. Those madressahs provide the foundations of kharijiat among its students (Taliban).
Everyone says that extremism is a mindset and an ideology. And we can not defeat an ideology by force. I agree with this. This is why this ideology needs to be dealt with.
If everyone REALLY wants to defeat this ideology then he should agree that these madressahs need to be closed and their organizers need to be kept an eye on.

I learn a lot from you mate about some real ground realties about the plight of shia muslims in our country... I just hope the day will come when these bifurcation will end and we wil think beyond these sectarian terms to the real issues of our country.. but till that time your concerns are valid.

Recently one of my friends was telling me how Saudi Arabia has promised to build and fund 100 mosques in Pakistan as a goodwill gesture (shivers!). I hope its just a silly rumour because I truly believe its the Saudi funded madarassa's and masjids that ultimately works as a Trojan Horse for extremists. The increasingly aggressive, rigid and intolerant Saudi ideology can single handily push the country on the path of total destruction. It is so dangerous that we can never ever find true peace and progress in the country until we sort out the terms and conditions of our 'friendship' contract with Saudi Arabia. The fact that Nawaz Sharif is in power, I just see the situation getting bad to worse. It's almost hopeless.
Its wonderful that Saudi Arabia wants to 'help' Pakistan but why can't they put that money into building hospitals, playgrounds or normal schools? Why madraasas? That's something now that bacha bacha of Pakistan needs to think about and question the authorities over it.

Good question. Why is the government of Pakistan not extinguishing these madrassas once and for all? Require that all kids opt for a private school that has an English based and Urdu based curricult with secretarian subjects - math, science, geography, history, language, etc - OR that they have to go to a government funded school and put the money into schools instead of war.
Then families will NOT be putting their kids in madrassas when they know that their kid will get a better job and future in a regular school. Open up more colleges, and start making more jobs.
All this, at the end of the day, requires SAFETY. Which since the sovereignty of the state itself is being challenged, isn't gonna happen any time soon.
The country is only STARTING to be in war, and once war starts, it's a plague that spreads really fast. We've seen this time and again in history how often? How often do you see unstable countries like Pakistan make a turn around? They just get worse.
These are sad and dark times for our people. Sad and very dark times.

And once you get brainwashed by these madrassa types it's really hard to get out and live a normal life. I have cousins (distant) who have relatives that I'm not directly related to , but who have enrolled these kids into madrassas. It's a disease of the mind these people have. I remember that family well. Dad was rigid, didn't want to sit in the same room as women. His wife and the other women of the house had to go sit in a separate room, although this was his WIFE's SISTER's home (so it's not even his home, or on his side of the family), and he was calling shots as to where people could sit. I was a kid < 10 yrs of age, and I just wanted to get up and walk outside, which meant passing through the living room where this goon was sitting, and I was told I can't because it would offend him.
I was like, ok whatever, then let him be offended, and I walked out in front of his face. Now I did that as a kid, because I was from the US, and I mean, what the heck did I know who this guy is or who he sits with at the masjid and who he is friends with. But I'm sure his wife, and the other women in his life are strictly controlled.
Where does it say in Islam you have to be such a tight-arse?? Or so unreasonable??? Or that a woman cannot pass in your presence?? Or talk to you???
This is all BS methods to control people, and their minds, and essentially get yourself a free army to do whatever you want them to do. You want something blown up? Just feed some hatred into their minds, and they'll blow it up for you.

As long as we are willing to look other way, nothing will ever change. Btw, Saudis have done more damage to image of Islam and Muslims than anyone else in the world. Their Whahbbi hate ideology has lit entire Muslim world on fire. Afghanistan and Pakistan are the biggest victims of this ideology.
