But FOX is reporting that looters are looting the cities and that convoys of aid are being attacked and America has turned the tide of the rescue efforts…

The looting was not happening cause they just felt like it. I'm sure it was happening cause they simply had no choice. No food, no water, no electricity, no outside help, people crushed to death around you. It is survival of the fittest. Only now has some aid and outside help trickled in. What do people really expect? I don't blame them for 'looting'. They aren't stealing thousands of dollars worth of supplies. They are taking food and it's pretty clear from the pictures shown today on the BBC that was what they were after.

Doesn’t matter. Food staples can hardly be equated with stealing big screen tv’s. If I am a shopkeeper in one of the effected areas, I would rather have people take the food, supplies etc.
This is like kicking people who are already down.

BBC is the only channel which showed most of the heart wrenching scenes and reported well on what is going on there. I am vey disapointment with CNN though, they just keep repeating same stuff over and over again.

It's not a lie. They showed looting and shopkeepers throwing stones to keep them away but I don't think your going to find anyone judging those stealing food and water.

but i heard that in islamabad building people are stealing from the collapsed building and the ones that were evacuated…

So its okay for them to do it cause they live in the big amreeka and when katrina struck it was alrite for the ppl to loot and steal but its totally pathetic if its happening in another country.

its natural for such things to happen. as there are many who feel for these devastated souls, at the same time there are others who will only think for themselves and will go such pathetic things as stealing. it happens everywhere during such times and there is nothing one can do about that.

There are different types of people all around the world, we can't pinpoint America when we see "bad" or "immoral" events and ignore the bad/wrong/immoral-incidents when it happens at our own home.
When NY lost electricity (or was it LA?) a sizable amount of criminals went on looting rampage, post Katrina due to lawlessness people looted businesses and we all blamed "look at Americans they are looting in such a disastrous time"
We all forgot what happened right after a big train accident in Pakistan(Ghotki?) when people from villages around came over to help, some helped while others looted the injured passengers. I was worried that some looting will happen post earthquake, looting of food items in desparate conditions is fine but other valuables is not.
May Allah swt help us help ourselves/others, be faithful, law-abiding, greed-less and helpful for others in times of crisis, aameen.

i think the looetrs are justified to loot food supplies.. i know many people who have loved ones and what would they do if help isn't given.. atleast they are not raping and killing like nerw orleans
