hahaha sara, that pic is funny. i think ballet flats or flat pointy toe shoes are the best under shalwar kameez. even open toe sandals are great, as long as your feet are in proper condition. no offense but girls with fugly feet PLEASE WEAR CLOSED TOE SHOES. kthanks :D

Shoes are very important part of our get-up. They exhibit our personality, bent of mind and aesthetic sense. There are many types of shoes which are available in market in large variety. But usually ladies wear shoes without thinking too much about their suitability, according to place, occasion, weather and season. In winter ladies wear boots, high heel cod shoes or canvas shoes to cover their feet from the harshness of weather. Otherwise feet will become rough, dry and cracks on heels.

There are some brands of shoes that I've worn that are especially designed for comfort such as Nurture. You can check them out. And they're so comfortable that I've worn them out.....plus they go well with a variety of clothes, professional, casual, shalwar kameez, etc.

Since I bought these, they’re pretty much all I wear with desi clothes (and non-desi clothes - jeans, dresses). They are super comfortable and the heel/sole hasn’t worn down at all, I wish all shoe soles were made out of the same material because I usually have to re-sole after a season for expensive shoes or discard for cheap ones.
Gonna buy a back up pair soon.
Oh, and the embellishments are really securely done, so they haven’t come off. Although, I was paranoid and put little dabs of epoxy on the plastic wire they are sewn down with, just in case

I would say ballet pumps look good under shalwar kameez. They are comfy to wear in too! I have invested in so many pairs since they first came in trend! Need to start wearing heels inbetween now because i have too many pumps!

i saw these at Ross for like $10 but wasnt sure to get them or not…but after seeing the pic you posted and your review abt it i think ill be going back tomorrow to pick them up

^were they steve madden? because over here in the U.K. high street stores have been copying them but they (a) don't look as nice (b) have seen people wearing them with half the embellishments come off (c) crappy soles.
But if they are steve madden, then... do you wanna pick me up a pair too?? they are like £50 here.

yeah the store im talking about is a bargain brands store, so they carry all departmental brand names for lower prices, steve maddens here arent all that 'elite' from where i come from but nonetheless are a well recognized brand. so its not hard to find a steal for their shoes. its normal to find their shoes for like $10-$20

^cool, I just thought they had disappeared by now because I bought them almost 1.5years ago and if you google them, no one online is really selling the bronze metallic ones any more. the gold on the black ones was too harsh for my liking.

I feel you Sara, as I walk a lot as well. While heels (peeptoes, slingbacks, closed toe stilletos) all look great with shalwar kameez, if you are walking i'd say stick to flats or pretty flip flops. Aldo has such pretty ones in the summer and they are very reasonable priced.

Anyway...the first one are just basic peeptoes, I got from nordstrom rack..(Were cheap)
and the second one are just plain jcrew flats..(I love them)

wear pumps or joggers. once u reach destination take out ur stylish sandals from ur bag n switch :)
