You can use spring roll wrappers for samosas. Given how thin the wrappers are, we usually use two wrappers. They come out very crispy - this is a quick alternative - dough from scratch is obviously better - but this works in a pinch.

Dough? I say you just buy the samosa sheets , they are the best for both samosa's and kachori's ...

For samosams I use eggroll/spring roll wrappers
For kachorian I have never made them myself, but have seen others make it from bread

eggroll and spring roll wrappers are too thin for Punjabi Samosa and Kachori.

Mirch , frankly i havnt seen any samosa or kachori wraps in the market .. thats why ended up making them myself at home …but thats UK …

Do you guys in the US have kachori wraps ? coz if not , then clearly you will have to make them yourself too :sahar02:

I want to save some time and effort for my wife. There are many kinds of doughs available in the supermarkets. like cookie dough , pie crusts , pizza crusts , biscuit etc. So I thought one of you might have successfully experimented.
I am not talking about anything from desi stores. Some desi entrepreneur should market those wraps. :ahaa:

for samosas we use thin tortilla wraps from Guerrero, they aren't as thin as spring roll wrappers but aren't excessively thick either but you have to make sure they aren't the real thick ones

For the kind of samosa pic you posted Mirch, I guess you need to have more than regular amount of ghee/oil in the dough. I haven't tried myself but saw that in some cooking shows.

I just got a package of dough from the desi store. im ntos rue what brand it is...but i used it yesterday and no complaints.....
