a person who does not pray is more muslim then a person who kills and has a attitude towards women like some of the guys have in this forum.
imo, religion should be seperated from the state. It should not play a big role day to day life. I dont want to be tied with something that is 2000 years old. You have to change with time. I follow the rules of the society because they reflect the time in which i am living. Religous law dont change with time. So i dont follow them.

People following islam can chose to be liberal, moderate, conservative in their beliefs , however they want to live their lives is their business. But when we talk about islam then there is only one version. No twists or turns, god says, you obey, no if or buts or any questions.We know this kindda islam as radical /extremist islam or talibanization . but this is true islam, there is no room for new ideas or adjusting according to new world in it. women are to stay at home only. head to toe hijaab ,no music, no tv, no mingling of sexes etc etc.
Of course such a thing is a inconvenience to people so they cut themself a lil slack.

well i agree that 1500 years ago, the earth was not a safe place for women and hence the covering of women was recommended. Most of the work done was physical work hence women were told to stay at home and the men worked.
Nowadays in every western country and even in india(It could be the case in paksitan as well, i dont know the stats) girls clearly outperform guys in school till year 12. That is a universal fact. They do perform better. so when they can do the same things that a male can do, i dont see why they should not be allowed to work.

I consider myself a liberal. but don't look down upon religious people, to me they are better than me. I am sure its a lot harder to be conservative muslim in the current world. The thing which bother me about conservatives is when they start pushing their ideas down my throat.
Having said that conservatives are better than me (liberals), the reason I am still one is that I find so many discripancies in all the books except Holy Quran. and even that is open to personel interpretation. So I read Quran, try to understand and follow the common sense. Sometimes when I get stuck with Ayats with multiple meanings I post them on GS, and normaly get a sensible answer.
I don't like the gray areas in the religion, and am trying to figure out and change the gray areas into black or white.
I am not promoting my way of life, but this is the way I look at it.

well first of all...I wudnt say tht Im religous...but on the other hand I do read namaaz five times a day....but I dont wear hijab or sumthing like tht...but then I dont think ke tht wud make me a bad muslim at all, in my point of view a muslim shud have a saafe dil, thts all....so I dont kno how I wud define myself as a muslim.... but to be honest I usually dont have the same point of views as many muslims, I like to see the point of view from both sides....but AlhamduLillah I am gratefull ke I am born as a muslim, for tht I thank Allah everyday...!!!1

Ofcourse women can work but with thinking about the her respect and dignity. The western society speaks about liberating women, all it is doing is taking away her diginity behind the colorful screens.. "art and culture" - ye..right

My definition of a moderate muslim ....
A person who derives his basic morality and world-view from the Quran and Sunnah (i.e. the muslim part).
He does not believe in an authoritarian imposition of his views on others (i.e. the moderate part).

i dont know of i fit in catagory of being '‘good’'muslim,it is up to god to judg e but i as muslim have to follow the path of Quraan and sunnah, we are human and everybody makes mistakes but when we make mistakes we must admit it becoz admitting your mistakes is the first step for forgiveness… .i am hafize quraan have been going to mosque for past 5 years am now busy with Qiraat and hoopfully will finish it in 3 years:insha: 
.our whole family is riligous coz my dad was islamic scholer i have 2 little brothers , one has 6 para,s hifze 
and the other isn,t yet old enough to do hifze quraan, hopefully about two years he will be able to do hifze:halo: .i have made many mistakes and i hope for kindiness of allah, we as human can hope nothing more then that.

A mod-Muslim is someone who thinks they’re smarter than God because they have changed Islam in a way that better suits them and the “modern” world today.
Apparently, God didn’t know what the world would be like in the 21st century, so they have made modifications.
Heck, they think they’re doing the rest of the Muslims a favor by imparting such progressive wisdom and improving the religion Islam.
