I’m going to have two weddings, a Arab one (with a white dress) and a desi one with a desi stye wedding dress. However, I dont know what should I get or what will go good with me. I want one with dark colors though because I’m already going to wear a white one. So any ideas here. I love a heavy veil.

For your desi style wedding get a burgundy dress with deep sapphire blue and peacock green fabric and gold and bronze embroidery.... Get a nice streamlined lehnga with a dupatta that is completely embroidered, perhaps something with cutwork or scallop edges to frame the face nicely.... Yummm

Wow that sounds really nice. I really want a nice deep color like red. Acutally I've always wanted to wear a desi style dress but I also wanted to wear a western style dress so I get the chance to do both now :). So when I'm in dubai I'm just going to go shopping around. Thanks

Maj, you have to decide whether you want to go for a lehnga or a gharara...I say go for a gharara if you want a really traditional look. Also, it may depend on the traditions in his family - ask for opinions from girls from his side of the family!

he has no girls in his family and his family is very westerized. Although they are kashmiri they think like arabs.

yeah 2 lol one here in Michigan, a arab one. and another in San Diego, a desi style one. He’s the only child so his parents are gonna want to give him a party there you know.

oh so on ur walima u wanna do a desi outfit...the ones u posted are nice and they would look good on u! But u know for walima u can do all sorts of colors it doesnt have to be all bridal
