agar koii lafzii tarjuma kare to "sar-e-sutoor/Khutoot" honaa chaahiye...kia pahle ke zamaanoN meN Headlines RED ink meN likhii jaatii thiiN? maiN ne bachpan meN ek do baar koi bahooot aham Khabar thii jo aKhbaar meN RED ink meN thii...:D

Red ink shows (showed) importance and urgency. In govt files, a note written in Red ink could be a show stopper. School teachers used to grade students using red ink. Maybe the word Surkhiyan was picked in that context (important and/or urgent)

bilkul bajaa farmaayaa...surKh rang se bharii hotii thii merii intiHaan kii copy...teacher hamesha kahte the k "miyaaN, aap pe hii merii laal roshnaaii Khatm ho jaatii hai" :D
