Choice under uncertainty is like choosing the lesser of the two evils or the better of the two goods. I think maybe this is what you are onto...perhaps?

awesome, bsolutely right.
in psych we call it: approach-avoidance type of decision conflict
in which the lesser harmful/riskier choice is preferred over the more harmful/riskier one.

read up on it, give it your thoughts.
you do take into account the risk and benefits attached to the one or two or more choices in front of you.
and then, weight, calculate or determine the worth of the preferred choice and then do not look back.
social science research on human behavior in preferences illustrate that we are never happy, and we are not certain of our choices, in many cases, even when we have made them.
that is why, being strong enough to make the choices under certainty, might feel like a huge task, a challenge, an apprehensive decision-making strain, when it has to be made, then iit has to be made.
take for instance, the example, when u are deciding to take courses in sciences or in liberal arts, pursue a Master's of a dual degree to MSc.- Ph.D.
time wise, scholarship wise, career wise, what is more better to take on.
how the rest of your life can or is planned around this aspect of your life?
will it demand so much, that you are uncertain, if you will be able to pull it all through.
that's choice under uncertainty.
either you sit there, and do nothing, OR, you become brave, rationalize your approach towards your choices, and being uncertain of the out come, still take the plunge - that's choice under uncertainty.
