I was in the hospital for around 48 hours, so I was hardly witholding the baby. The hospital is usually busy with giving the injections, monitoring the baby, circumcising (if a boy), getting the mom started breastfeeding, etc., and isn't really thrilled by the hustle and bustle that some families make.
I would have no problem if she would come, look at the baby, stay maybe an hour, then leave, but it wasnt' like that at all. She didn't even pay attention to the kids when she did come. She held them for maybe 5 minutes (except my son), then sat around and gup-shupped for a few hours with some other aunties that came along for the show. I mean, honestly, my room is not a lounge. The nurses finally told them to leave after telling them several times that I had enough visitors for the day.
I think the only ppl allowed should be whom you are comfortable with and for me it would only be my hubby or mom and that is it!!! No SILs and MILs.......
There is no way they are going to see me in that condition.
