My favourite is definitely the 'jalwa' rasm. What a heart-stopping moment that must be for both! Woh pehli nazar, woh sharam, woh nasha....can't beat that!

Would somebody familiar with this tradition please explain in detail the process? Where? When and how is it executed?

Hai hai hai Muzna ji ;)

you know I am not familiar with Muslim wedding rasms...but this 'Jalwa' thing, as its name says seems to be the fun thing :)...can some one please iss par roshni daal sakta?...

CM

Yeah Muzna put some roshni, "Sharam, Nasha" what side of the Bisther did you wake up today?.

*Wink*Wink

Btw you ARE acting in an Anokha way these days. :)(yaar just one smiley face plzz).

here it is...the JALWA!
(Muzna-ji...aap bhi sunnay!)
It's done just after the Nikaah when the bride is brought out into public. Her face is still covered and no-one is allowed to see her until the groom has seen her face first. They are sat opposite each other and somebody holds a silver mirror or 'thaali' between the two. Her bridesmaids lift her vail just enough so that they can both see each others reflection in the mirror!!
After this comes the 'moo dikhaayi' gift giving where the bride has to give something very expensive to the groom!(ha!ha!).I'm only kidding...it's actually the other way around!
Is that romantic enough for you all?!
