Rahat Bakery Pizza, where's that? Would love to try that out, yum.
Rahat Bakery is a chain bakery in Pakistan, I know they have locations in Lahore/Pindi/Islamabad. I agree with Iggle that Rahat has great pizza...especially halal meat toppings like chicken tandoori/barbecue etc....but there are better pizza places here.
Re: What is your favorite non desi dish ?
Rahat Bakery is by far the BEST bakery in Pakistan. I didnt know they had one in Lahore too!

Yep...it's in Cantt I think.
BBQ's lamb chops - love 'em!
BTW, i get the impression that lamb chops r v expensive in USA, r they really? I don't think they r very expensive here, bcos ppl have them all the time. Actually Lamb / Mutton is the most commonly available meat in ethnic butchers. Its all reared in the UK, really fresh, never frozen.
Lamb in US is very expensive - $11 per pound unless theres a sale and even then its like 8.99 a pound for those delicious little chops...I can eat 6 of these lol so to make a dinner of it for the family...well needless to say its a very rare treat in this house!

yep, uniteds got its own loyal fan base though... remember how many foriegners/diplomats would frequent that place. my mom prefers rahat, I prefer united but after my last trip to those two places I had to give in. United had the most amazing buns ever.

Chicken chasseur
Chicken Chasseur
This is an absolutely fantastic chicken recipe. It seems so straight forward, yet the flavors just click perfectly and it’s always a winner at our house.
4 bone-in, skin-on chicken breast halves, trimmed of excess fat and skin
2 T. vegetable oil
8 oz. white button mushrooms, sliced
1 medium shallot, minced
some lemon juice
3½ c. chicken broth
⅓ c. drained, canned diced tomatoes
3 T. cold butter, cut into 4 pieces
1 T. minced fresh parsley leaves
1 T. minced fresh tarragon leaves
Adjust oven to middle position and heat to 400. Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper. Heat oil in 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken breasts skin-side down and cook without moving until well browned, 5 - 8 minutes. Using tongs, turn chicken and brown second side, about 5 minutes. Remove chicken to rimmed baking sheet.
Pour off all but 2 T. fat from pan. Add mushrooms and cook over medium-high until they start to brown. Reduce heat to medium and add shallots. Cook until soft, about 1 minute.
Remove pan from heat and add brandy; Let stand until brandy warms slightly then wave chimney match over skillet to ignite. Return pan to medium-high heat and shake skillet until flames subside. Add wine; using wooden spoon, scrape browned bits from pan bottom. Simmer briskly until reduced to glaze, about 3 minutes.
Add broth and tomatoes and simmer until liquid, mushrooms, and tomatoes measure 1½ cups, about 25 minutes.
While sauce simmers, place chicken in oven; roast until temperature reaches 160 degrees, 15 - 20 minutes. Transfer chicken to serving plate and tent loosely with foil.
When sauce is reduced, whisk in butter, one piece at a time, until melted. Add parsley and taragon and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Spoon sauce over chicken to serve.

oooOOoo any type of pasta!!!!
Re: What is your favorite non desi dish ?
^ Lahore bakeries are the BEST!!! They have everything from pastries to cakes to desi sweets to chicken rolls (yum). They have more variety than the bakeries over here.....well at least in Florida anyways.
