Having been witnessing tug of war about the power struggle in the political arena of Pakistan and how Leaders of the Country are involved in ‘addition-subtraction politics’ and then, the war of words in Pakistan Affairs forum on proving how one leader is worthy of others… I was thinking what should be some good qualities of a leader?
Specially for a nation to choose a leader, what criteria should be looked into… If an educated nation would declare someone a True leader, what would it expect from him/her?
What did people expect from the Father of the Nation, Jinnah and did he fulfil what was expected?
What do you want to see in a good leader? Does Pakistan have any? Which one in your opinion and Why?
While many on GS will be furiously Googling for any cliché ridden words of other famous people. I'll keep it simple. A leader is one who can assemble a good group of people and keep everyone motivated and focused. A person who shows good judgment and can inspire people to greatness.
yeah we badly need a good leader right now , one who do what he says or promise ( no more let downs) , one who's smart enough to tackle all sort of mishaps while keep his chin up , one who doesn't need any guidance or dictation, and last but not the least , we need one who doen't impose anything on his people but give them the liberty to choose what's best for them ...................... also if that person was never ever involved in corruption and was never been a lota that that would be plus point.
Loyalty to Pakistan and the people of Pakistan. This is the first quality I want to see in a Pakistani leader. Our leadership is more loyal to their interests than the interest of the nation. Political leadership around the world have a tendency to look after their interests. But when it comes to the interests of their nation, the leaders of every living nation unite and place the national interest above their own. For our leaders, personal interest is always paramount.
Leader is a one who do work more than talking. he/she is the one who believes on "Rationality" and stick to it, and figure out ways for everyone to live in that rationality.
who take good care of his/her people and ideology, than preserving future only of his/her generation.
who believes in infrastructure and law n order, and stable relationships with all neighboring country (who believes that there are also people living on the other side of the border)
...who gives hope and show better future (outside the realm if fulfilling basic necessities)
in pakistan's case I believe a leader is a person who will help the country progress faster than other countries in the region and the world in areas like education, social services, industry, infrastructure, and who helps people become empowered in all walks of life, have opportunities and freedoms, and are deceasingly impacted by violence and crimes.
