I agree, Salman is a really good player but is not for test. I have beeen saying this for along time. Second, he is out of form.
Now back to Younis:
Yes he performed well. But gone are the days when he was in form. Now he needs to go. Guy doesnt perform in either forms of cricket.

Speaking of facts, if you call scoring one inconsequential century out of six innings in a debut series against Australia a success, then I am sure there have been plenty of openers who have done it…Khalid “Billy” Ibadullah infact did it in his first test against the Aussies…Lou Vincent score 104 and 54 as an opener on his debut against the Aussies in '02…Buttman is not the “ONLY” one who has done it…And if I do enough digging I can find more instances…
Furthermore, his technique is flawed and will remain in the toilet…and he will be another Taufiq Umer…if he is lucky…I see an even more ominous future ahead of him…

I think the first person that should be fired after the series is the selector Wasim Bari, we all know that Younis didnt deserve to play in the national team let alone become the VC. Anyways the first thing they need to do is to take out Butt, and Butterfingers(Taufeeq) and ofcourse Younis Khan. They need to toss this guy out for good, and whoever they put in Iam sure he'll do better.

I'm all for axing Taufeeq Umar, Younis Khan and bringing Shoaib Malik and Yasir Hameed. One of latter two will at least perform with bat and one at least in field. But then we'd set high hopes from these two and will be after their heads God-forbid they repeat former's mistakes. Then what?
EDIT: But probably next two wickets are rather slow where Shoaib Malik and Yasir should be able to bat better.

I will go further Captain. I would like to bring Malik and Hameed for Taufeeq and Younis. But I would also bring Afridi in the team for Razzaq. Next two tests will be on turning tracks and Afridi will be useful with his fielding and batting as well. Kaneria will have some support in bowling with three bowlers around.

Maybe Inzi is smart and that is why he put Younis in the slips cause he knows Younis is a bad slip fielder. Even the commentators were pleading for Inzi to field in the slips but he did not make the change. Once Younis is out of the picture Inzi does not have to listen to all the crap about his captaincy. More importantly YoYo will be back as his VC. Either way, whatever maybe the reason, Younis has to go since he has not played a single innings in recent memory which has turned out to be match winning.
I am more shocked at the confidence Pybus, Imran, Dravid and our self proclaimed cricketing expert Omar Qureshi showed in Younis Khan.

Yoyo practically is still VC of the team. After every over, Younis will go straight to the other end with keeper to his slip position, while Inzi will talk to bowler and will engage Yoyo in conversation on field placement and bowling change.
Also I noticed when Inzi went out in last few overs of the Indian innings. Afridi was on Mid-on position and was talking to Rana, Razzaq and Danesh as they walk to their runup. He will exchange few words with the bowler and atleast at two occassions he was seen discussing field placement on the mid wicket area with the bowler. So some ppl are taking initiative to chip in with their experience, despite of the unfavourable situation in the match.

He is a bad slip fielder, move him to some other spot. He was standing in the slips since he is being groomed for the captaincy role.
He is a solid bat, first innings dismissal was doubtful, he was given LBW to a ball that almost pitched outside the legstump. Second innings, he was not himself when he was dismissed. After dropping few catches and been given LBW to a dubious decision, he was being extra cautious/careful when he left the delivery that swung back into the stumps. He is a much better player, we should persist with him.

he is and was never a techinically sound batsman. His footwork is bad. He shuffles across the wickets. And most of all what happened to his attitude. He was very involved before.
My consipiracy theory: There is a tension between inzi and him and som eother players after he was brought in a vc. If i was him, i would have not accepted the offer as i would know my performance doesnt match with the role and would not be respected among peers.

you guys are speaking my mind about Inzi placing Younis intentionally in slip so he doesn’t talk to the captain (Inzi) and kept him out of field-set decisions.

Khalid Ibadullah scored IN PAKISTAN. I am not talking about non-pakistani openers and only concerned with Pakistani openers.
Regarding techniques, There is no such thing as perfect technique and almost every batsman in the world has some flaws.
Anyways i dont want to derail this thread and maybe we will discuss it when somoene brings up a discussion regarding him.

after all of the efforts by akmal & razzaq, i say just bring hameed for salmaan, afridi for younis. keep salmaan or bring malik only as batsman else if need a bowler, bring arshad as kalkata's pitch is best for spinners. just look at herbajans record. 5 matches and 29 wickets in calcatta.
