to me, dear GS ers, it is nothing but a subject slant on how vested one can be, in professing one’s loyalty to the right or to the left, depending on what is your ball park like, i.e. right or left or middle or an outlier space (which is even better)?
chime in by sharing ur definition of the term ‘political correctness’.
hmmm..being politcaly correct to me is useless! b/c its sometimes the ppl who decide whats politically correct are not really effected by the "correctness". for instance its PC to say african-american...and not black! now... i know alot of blacks who are more italian then they are african..i also know blacks who are latin american, there are ancestors migrated to the US from the caribean, or cuba..so why are they also known as african american, when there fellow country men who are lighter skin are called latin american..not african american! so why are we calling them african american and not black! and why are we more comfortable with white...and not black!!!
who decides whats politically correct..do blacks decide that "african american" is better then black...do whites decide "caucasian" is better then european american! do minorities prefer PC terms b/c society teaches them as it does us that terms that are PC are better then non-PC terms, or are they more comfortable with it on thier own voition and not b/c they are taught to be comfortable.
Why are we afraid of the term "black" why do we say "white" comfortably but then say african-american when we want to say black!!?!!
thats my 2 cents or politcal correctness.
As for party politics, if we areliberal, conservative etc... hmm. i guess we ust sorta decide that based upon our opinions, if you like tradition, and are not interested in rebelling against tradition and changing it likely you are conservative. if you are about change and not into tradition then you are liberal... i think!
