OOOOOOh flashback! When I was in the tenth grade, my parents enrolled me in a private all-girls Muslim school. I had gone to an American school previously and since that school only went up to junior high, I had to move to a local high school (very few of them at the time). Anyhow...........I was used to saying "Happy New Year" on January 1st all of my life. BUT things didn't work this way in the Muslim School. And one of my classmates, who had attended this school for years, knew about this and decided to play a trick on me. She told me to go say, "Happy New Year" to the Muslim teachers (we had come back from winter vacation).............so I boldly go into the open teacher's language with my cheerful self and wish them "Happy New Year!!!" I got ignored by some teachers.........the Islamic Studies teacher gave me an annoyed look........and my homeroom teacher smiled sympathetically at my awkwardness. BUT nobody responded back.
That sneaky friend of mine later said, "Ha ha.....Muslims don't believe in the worldly new year. Our new year starts with the month of Muharram."
So, if this girl is a Muslim.......it's possible that she doesn't believe in Jan 1st being the New Year. Or if she's not Muslim.............maybe she just doesn't believe in certain holidays/celebrations. As long as she was polite otherwise........it's no big deal that she didn't wish you back.

Ouch must've been like saying Marry christmas to a room full of Jews!
oo yes dat is true i meen forget the new year what is wrong with ramazan mubarak?
Maybe she was in a bad mood? Perhaps for some reason Ramzan will be a stressful time for her due to various circumstances? Maybe she's not overly fond of you? Maybe there is so much on her mind. Sometimes when we have a lot going on in our heads.....we can become absent-minded.....and forget even common courtesy.
How well do you know this girl? Is she someone you consider a friend or an acquaintance. If she's just an acquaintance, let it go because you don't interact much with her anyways. If she's someone you consider a friend.....give her the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps she was just absent minded or maybe her personality is such that she doesn't like to wish people on holidays or special occasions. People have strange quirks in their personalities. If the girl is usually nice to you........let it go. Her failure to wish you Ramzan Mubarak is not going to affect your fasting in any way. :)
