Salaam,
My sister in law said that the outfit for my valima was sleeveless, short at the front and longer at the back and there was a top half and a bottom half just like there is for a lehnga. This is the only thing that matches that description, and if it is this, I’m quite happy, cos it’s both different and nice. (Though she told me it’s all the rage in Pakistan right now.) Does anyone know what this is called? I wanted to have a look at other outfits like it, but havent been able to find any.

Its called bias cut and some people call it a symmetrical.

@eastern11 Thanks, I've googled asymmetric and bias cut in as many ways as I can think of and have only come across one other outfit like that one. I can't wait to see my actual Valima and Baraat dresses so I just traipse the web ha.

@eastern11 Yeah there's probably just not many images tagged under those descriptions. I found finding the butterfly/kum kum salwar online impossible too, even though they are ridiculously popular.
