What is this town coming to?!

There used to be times when you saw a minor accident, you would laugh it off and say ‘it’s just a scratch, don’t block the traffic, pull over’. However, that has changed quite rapidly i might add.

I’ve noticed a trend of severe road accidents in the recent days. Just this weeks i’ve seen massive accidents where the vehicles involved would be deemed irrepairable. Today alone i saw 4 major accidents. :bummer:

What is this town coming to?!

How’s your town looking?..

Have a safe journey home everybody. Keep your eyes on the road, invest in a bluetooth and cut the conversation to minimum.

Re: What is this town coming to?!

Re: What is this town coming to?!

Re: What is this town coming to?!

Re: What is this town coming to?!

How's your town looking? Seen any accidents lately?

Re: What is this town coming to?!

When I was living in Louisiana, my job was in downtown and I used to take highway going to work and coming back from work. Almost each morning I would see a minor accident. However, in the current town, I don't take the highway as my job is less than 5 miles away, so I really don't see any accidents. However, before I leave home and when I am listening to news, there are minor accidents. It's very rare that they have fatal accidents.

I guess the reason why there are severe accidents is because people are frustrated in general. High gas prices, higher food prices, work stress, idiots (especially those that are on the phone while driving) on the road, congested highways, and what not. Patience is simply vanishing and everyone is in a rush. That all causes careless driving and you have more accidents.

Re: What is this town coming to?!

My Town? What is that?

Re: What is this town coming to?!

You're right, Shikra. All those factors do lead to unattentiveness while driving.

I wonder if the heat/summer has anything to do with it too? Some people get irritated easily when it's hot.

Here you get 6 points on your license and 2 years ban I think. Is there a similar law in the states for using mobile (or cell as u guyz call it) whilst driving?

Re: What is this town coming to?!

It's banned to use cellphone/hold it up to your ear while driving. I think that maybe the case in most states by now. Headset/Bluetooth is allowed. If you get pulled over, i think you get a ticket ($75).

Re: What is this town coming to?!

most ppl think they are the only ones on the road n every road they are on belongs to their baap. you can only be so much careful on the road but sadly others don't think that way and no matter how careful you are...others carelessness cost everyone.

Perhaps, especially to those that have their windows down instead of using the AC.

Here each state has different law. I know it is banned in NY and you get a ticket. Louisiana was pretty laid back because it's not as busy when it comes to traffic. Not sure about Texas (where I am now) but I don't normally use phone while driving, unless I absolutely have to, and that doesn't take my attention away from the driving.

Re: What is this town coming to?!

Correction It's 3 points and a £60 fine If your pulled over and fined. If case goes to court an additional fine of up to £1,000 could be imposed.

Re: What is this town coming to?!

Holy Moly! Expensive phone call, i must say.

Re: What is this town coming to?!

In this town , I hardly see any kind of road accidents. My own drive to work is a 50 minute drive but it is all country drive , so scenic , peaceful and Serene.

Re: What is this town coming to?!

in karachi its the fights after the accidents that are more entertaining :D

Re: What is this town coming to?!
