What is the proper name of this kind of collar? I know it’s not Chinese Collar, becase chinese collar comes around all the way.
Also, does anyone have any idea how to sew it? I want to try it. So please, please please ask anyone around how to make it. Otherwise I would have to pull apart my mom’s and my brother’s collars
something tells me that it is a nehru collar, though at another website i saw it being called a chinese collar.
i dont know any good darzi's here in TO...the most complicated stuff that i had to get done....i would take it an auntie or something, but she's not in town. so i need to know how to make this myself. so any hints would be nice :)
yup yup...it's an HSY outfit. I want something like that for eid, but not in white. but now that i think of it, trying to match a lining in anything that is not white is kinda hard...so i am just going to go for the basic design...like the collar :p
ahh don't even get me started on the stupid darzis. i took a nice kapra...nice design and everything, and asked him to make this gala that was really hot back in 2002...the latknay wala gala. anyways, he made that stupid thing into something that resembles a high neck! and then i told him to make a specific design on a specific kapra, he made that on design on a totally different kapra. andddd you know how you get a zipper at the back of a kameez...looks totally hot. told a separate darzi to do that, expecting that he would put some plates on the back so the zip would be atleast functional. nooooooooo he did not do that! now it looks like a kameez with a misplaced zip. stupid idiots!
i dont know what’s wrong with those people! but you know what, you should never give them more than 2 suits at a time…they get too overwhelmed with the wor
Man, we don’t have problems that bad with talilors in Pakistan! I mean mostly just with fittings, sizes (too tight, too loose) etc…but not like the ones u lot r speaking of…it is hard to find a good private tailor, anywhere…but the ones in the boutiques r usually good…u shud ask around to see which ones have the best reputations…that is if u don’t have relatives there who can help u out with that stuff…
Last yr. in Lahore it was crazy for my cousins’ wedding…a bunch of us (girls and women) came from abroad and we all had to get at least 3 or 4 outfits made EACH for all the functions…and in about 1 to 2 weeks only! We had to go to a couple of different boutiques, plus one private tailor (who was also making our simple clothes for daily wear!)…and we all looked very nice So i was quite impressed at how fast they were all made…those ppl work so hard
