Re: What is the Sharm-o-Hayaa criteria in Life1 discussions ?
Please don't take it as a criticism, it is just a question after observing few threads. Where should the line be drawn ? I mean some recent topics have such indirect questions that their answers would reveal too much about a person's private life and personal details that shouldn't be shared in public, even if they are giving a 'general' reply. There are many children on this forum with curious minds. At times people reply by playing with words in such a way that even if you want to keep your mind clean, devil might create curiosity about what a particular 'slang' means. That might force some people to search for the 'meaning' of the slang that has been used. We sure don't want our children and siblings (in Islam) to research over those perspectives. I know mods and Admins can't control this because we never know what were the intentions behind a reply, but we all know that Allah (swt) is watching us and knows exactly (even more than us) every bit of 'what' was there in the core of our heart. Even a microscopic dirty intention would lead to embarrassment in front of Allah (swt) on the day of our face to face encounter with THE ALMIGHTY.
I think RAW has a point here. He is not challenging anyone's ethics here, he is just indirectly suggesting that if a topic can be discussed without hinting too much into a private aspects of human life or without using slang that we can do without, why not discuss it in a more kosher manner.
You guys remembered Titanic. An excellent family movie that was ruined by one very very unnecessary scene. That scene was so irritating that I refused to watch that movie again (although it was worth watching 2-3 times otherwise). Some of the Life1 discussions are like that. We unnecessarily turn an otherwise PG-13 conversation into R rating. I might be guilty of doing the same but the fact remains that there is absolutely no need of that.
Re: What is the Sharm-o-Hayaa criteria in Life1 discussions ?
Believe me if a kid knows how to use the internet, they won't be visiting life1.
Re: What is the Sharm-o-Hayaa criteria in Life1 discussions ?
Well, there wasn't just one scene that ruined an excellent family movie Titanic, but that has been my case with Life1. Need to be a little bit sensible when discussing some topics.
Re: What is the Sharm-o-Hayaa criteria in Life1 discussions ?
I totally agree with Nomi here. This should have been moderated/deleted.
anyway once again TLK has proved himself right, Sachi Sachi baatain nahin karni chahiye :nahin: No one is trying to get RAW’s point but just trying to pull his leg so he never dares to come back with his sachi sachi baatain :halo:
I agree with Sara’s point too. When i came here newly to Gs, some of the threads and the discussions made me puke. Actually it was a shock to see that our ppl have gone faaaaar away from all the limits of hayya and modesty. coz they are so called MODERN now :halo: Now the gal comes on here n tell the crowd about how many times she changes … :-X hmm nothing. thats something really cheap and indecent coming from a so called well qualified person. ![]()
Re: What is the Sharm-o-Hayaa criteria in Life1 discussions ?
I actually think GS is a very family oriented forum. No dirty language and people do a decent job of keeping yucky topics at bay.
Yes, some people flirt with the limits but you cannot control everything...that would be a dictatorship.
Re: What is the Sharm-o-Hayaa criteria in Life1 discussions ?
Its funny how you are so concerned about people judging and bashing RAW over his ‘sachi sachi baatein’. And at the same time you are calling someone cheap and indecent because YOU entered their journal and read it.
And sweetheart I don’t think you understood Sara’s comment to start with. What she said was, if you go and read the crap that is posted on other forums, you would realize how controlled and decent GS is. All profanity is edited out and moderated, I don’t understand what you are whining about.
Re: What is the Sharm-o-Hayaa criteria in Life1 discussions ?
^ @ Jaanwar what are u whinning about?
We are talking about over all indecency coming from the ppl.. be it in anyone's journal/blog, in thread or in chat room. Wrong is wrong.
I often listen to this "Judging PPL" talk. I dont understand if you are seeing a person saying something wrong, you will still want to think, na he/she can be a very nice person in real life. I am sorry at least i dont want to assume things when the reality is so clear to me. btw for your kind info i dont make any judgement calls based on one signle comment from a person but may be i have noticed him/her since long. You are not the only smart one here. If one is a decent, i wont understand why it would be so difficult for him/her to show it?
One more thing, from educated ppl, i dont expect anything indecent, vulgar, behayya and unethical. If they have been to colleges n Unis, studied under learned experienced professors, then they should act differently than those Jahil ppl who have never crossed the gate of any school.
Re: What is the Sharm-o-Hayaa criteria in Life1 discussions ?
^ So based on a few comments you are happy to assume that a person is indecent and cheap, but you don't want to assume that they are otherwise good people. Bravo. When people post something on the internet, esp in their journals, they are much more open due to anonymity, also the tone would depend on how they are feeling - they could be upset, depressed, excited and so on.
And LOL! if only colleges and unis taught character! Just because you went to uni doesn't mean you are the best thing ever happened to mankind. Now that you have discovered the secret world of interwebs, embrace the fact that people vary in thoughts, expression and standards and you can't go around measuring everyone with your own gauge of righteousness.
Lastly, like it or not, I AM the smartest one around.
Re: What is the Sharm-o-Hayaa criteria in Life1 discussions ?
Right after all your posts are moderated, mine would be too ![]()
Hey FT, been man hunting or asking someone to man hunt for you lately? Isn’t that beyond sharam-o-hayaa too? Maybe you shouldn’t blog about that either so we don’t have to read that stuff and kill about 80% of our brain cells by that mindless drivel.
Re: What is the Sharm-o-Hayaa criteria in Life1 discussions ?
^ you spend 80% of ur brain cells only on my blogs?
Sorry dont come to my blogs anymore. Didnt know you were spending too much time there.
btw I thought you were a mod to some section
were u never been one or have been removed from that position? ![]()
Looking for husband is be-hayaiee??? acha jee thats something new for me. ![]()
Re: What is the Sharm-o-Hayaa criteria in Life1 discussions ?
Right, based on few comments coz i dont want to spend my whole life judging one person.
I want everyone to be best once they have been to colleges n Uni. Thats whats expected from them.
I have my standard and criteria based on what I judge n chose ppl. I am very happy that my criteria is right coz it has proved me right in life so far. Adaab arz hai
<<<< thats adaab waala salam. need to get back to work.
Re: What is the Sharm-o-Hayaa criteria in Life1 discussions ?

Re: What is the Sharm-o-Hayaa criteria in Life1 discussions ?
Wow this turned upside-down! I agree with adhering to guidelines about deceny but moderation of statements/comments that are relevant would seem a bit over the top. So yeah, its personal responsibility that's the key.

Ever heard the term "parha likha jahil"?
lots of things shouldn't happen or shouldn't be a certain way but they are.
