What is the purpose of this thread ?

What is the OP trying to achieve with this post other than flaming ?

Would opening a similar thread about Jinnah be acceptable ?

Re: What is the purpose of this thread ?

This is not my point of view but the point of view of someone else.
I am only trying to point out that there are people in the world who think different then
the normally accepted point of view about Mr. Gandhi.

Its up to the people to decide what they want to do how they want to react.
My purpose was to "inform" and start a debate and discuss what mr. Baldev Singh is saying in his letter to Oprah.

I am sorry if you feel personally attacked but that was not my intention Punjabee in USA.

You are talking about inflaming things. But i am sure you did not scrutinize your oen threads like you did with my thread. If you would without any bias scrutinize your threads in the past then you will find out that they are many times more inflammatory the this thread.

Re: What is the purpose of this thread ?

Sometimes thread find the purpose or dont go any further. Let it flow naturally

Well, there are people who feel differently about everything including Jinnah, Pakistan, Islam etc. I will not go into whether those feelings are correct or not, but when you do not like them expressing their feelings on this forum why not apply the same logic here ?

P.S. My original question still stands - who is Baldev Singh ? Why should we give any importance to what he says ??

You are mixing apples with oranges here. If someone feesl differently about Jinnah or Gandhi then sure they can start discussions in a mature manner. BUT if the sole purpose of every single post on GS is to bash one particular opinion or ideology then we don't allow it. IF Happyheart or any other member comes and starts bashing Hinduism, Christianity, Islam OR starts insulting holy personalities (like Muhammad PBUH, RAAM, JESUS, GHANESh etc) of any major religion in his every single post then he will be treated in same manner. Rules clearly say that ANY hate speech is not allowed, and if administration sees a consistent pattern of abuse then it has a right to take an action.

We normally don't discuss member bans, but on this occasion I am making an exception. In past few days more members opposing or challenging the trolls were warned by moderators than the trolls themselves. They (trolls) were given enough time and warnings to mend their ways, but it was clear that they were here only for one reason. The decision wasn't made on basis of one or two threads, ALL of their posts were under review. Only then they were banned.
As for freedom of expression, you should know that this is NOT a Government body. Property rights apply here and they go BOTH ways. Under property laws the owner has right to say whatever they want under their roof but it also gives them right to limit access to facilities according to their interests.

Since you never read my replies. I am hereby honouring your request again :)
I have posted the anwser 2 times but u never read it.

Here i go again :

Singh, Baldev
Baldev Singh, PhD in medicinal chemistry, is a retired pharmaceutical research scientist. Dr. Singh has about sixty publications and 100 U.S. patents. Born in Takhtupura, District Faridkot, Punjab he has published article on Sikhism in Sikh Bulletin, Sikh Virsa, Spokesman, Abstracts of Sikh Studies and Understanding Sikhism Research Journal.

If you have any complaint then talk to him, he wrote the article.

I’ll take what you say at face value and would request you to look at all posts made by the OP in WA/World History. Do you not see a pattern there ?

There you go…You could have just mentioned the part in bold without the other verbiage and the message would have been pretty clear. :hoonh:
