3 rakats together (like maghrib).
There is an extra takbir in the third rakat before ruku. I read dua qunoot, and then continue as regular prayer.

But it is said that ‘witr’ namaaz shouldn’t read like Maghrib namaaz.

I also make it like this. One niyah and 3 rakaat.

In our masjid, Witr is always a confusing matter in Ramadhan because the management wants to get it done in all different ways its done universally.
So there is this 3-rakat style with one niyyah as we learnt ourselves in childhood.
And then there is 2 + 1 in arab style where a dua is made after standing up from 3rd rakaah rukoo. This dua is said loud, with hands up and very very detailed and lengthy. Normally they do this way over the weekends and odd-nights.
And there is one other way i’m forgetting right now. But I oersonally find it very confusing. I would rather stick with one way.

There is no agreed upon single way of praying witr
Witr is offered differently by different madhabs and these different methods are conveyed from the salaf by way of tradition. More then one way of praying witr seems also to be established from the Prophet Sallallaahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam.
Allaah knows best but Like its rakats are of optional odd numbers with 3 rakats being recommended, so can its method be open to personal preference - Allaah knows best but the hadith sharif you cited about differentiating between it and maghrib can be interpreted as suggestive of this theory? It does not specify a specific difference to make between Maghrib and Witr?

You can offer witr as:
- 1 rakaat alone
- 3 rakaat with only one tashahud (i.e. you don’t sit after the second rakaat)
- 3 rakaat with two tashahud (i.e. you sit after the second and third rakaat)
All methods are proper and acceptable. Different schools of thoughts will give you different preference based on the evidence they feel is stronger.

Walikum salam, the most common way of offering witr is performing a three rakat namaz but it also includes duai qanoot in it, but people offer that prayer in different ways few does the 1 rakat thing and many hold up their hands while saying duai qanoot duai kanoot that mostly depends upon the firqa the one is following.

After reading about 'Salaat-ul-Witr", I came across these two methods:
1- Two + one (two rakat with two tashahud and two salams)
2- Three (three rakat with one tashahud and one salam)

They do this in our Masjid as well. The logic behind it is, they want to emphasize the fact that all the different ways of praying Witr are correct. Because all of them are Sunnah, ie the prophet himself also switched between the different Witr styles.
