wat is so wrong about smoking? it’s not an outwardly “immoral” activity like drinking alcohol or dressing like a ho, etc.

I didnt say it was - just said it was weird…

Smoking is haram too.

Why is it ok to fast and go out to movies, listen to music, dance etc? People do all those things and they say they're fasting. Is roza just "not eating or drinking all day"?

I can't believe I have to explain this to a woman - some women wear scarfs because their hair is messy and they just don't want to wash it on that particular day.

This seems to be the most logical explanation, yet.

its difficult, but i wonder how 'nobody' here understands why head covering is not just a reiligous obligation and is so important.
A head covering is a very complicated matter for a lot of traditionally religious families. for some, the chadar and baal dankhna is the most important of all, and it has less logically religios connotations than it has traditional ones.
you may go totally modern, but covered hair does make a muslim woman stand out as what she is, and make her very comfortable in the idientity. again, the remaining bit about slits and smoking, these are about personal preferences and stuff that every muslim has a right to make, and i dont understand why they should appear to conflict so much with muslim identity.

:rotfl:

Would it be same when bearded guys wear chest hugging tees?

:smack: nahi yaaar these double standards apply only to girls remember???

yaar, why does it matter to u? as long as we are perfect, we cant really say much about other,.,, we cant really, even if we were perfect.. its their life and their grave they have to worry about. if ur walking in a tshirt... thats still not covering ur satter... same goes for her,, if u can see a part of the thigh,,, the satter isnt covered... so its still not perfect in both cases... but maybe we think a tshirt is okay and a skirt showing part of the thighs is not okay. they are both not okay. having said that... no ones perfect and one should try their best to improve themselves. and no i,m not saying wearing a tshirt and wearing a mini skirt are the same thing. they are not,,, but they arent both right if ur talking islam.

btw, why do people automatically assume that a girl with hijab has to be a perfect muslimah? and then they are shocked wen they see anything reomtely unislamic about em....
havent u seen a non hijabi girl swear??? the girl in the hijab is a human too just like the one without the hijab.. they can make mistakes too. no ones perfect.
