And what is the point of your thread ? Seriously , why you ask ? Something missing from your life ? You are depressed , or you are trying to find answer to age old question " why am I here ?"

Zeo69cool, don't look at wat some people are saying, there will be always people here below 6 years age.

I am asking the same question to myself and i and u are NOT the only one.

They're a lot of books written on that and there is simply no answer for it. There is no answer for u to give and u will be satisfied. Sorry, for my english. I just only speak france, spain and dutch and ofcourse urdu/hindi.

But if u look through religion then is it command Allah and after here u will be rewarded.

There are usually two ends of living one is better than the other:

Life is to be enjoied - enjoyment is good
Life is to be good - good leads to enjoyment

The first one is immediate and short lived (limited to this world), the second one is delayed and long lived ... (for the permanent world hereafter)

You choose which one to follow ....

There is a greater way to see this same question ...

Life is to learn how to be a perfect slave of God ... Life is to Know God (through His worship) .. to know God is our eternal enjoyment. So they are interlinked.

I apologize in advance and I really don't want to sound condescending, but if god is THE GOD, why would he create something only to be his perfect slaves all their lives, their only purpose in life would be to know him and worship him? Aren't you describing him in very narcissist terms?

Good observation ... I missed out an important detail or really I allowed a possible misinterpretation to be made by not specifying a particular detail.

That detail is ... that God does not need us ... we need Him ... so whatever we do is ultimately for the catering of our needs. Since according to my post above "we are here to be His perfect slaves" just like a perfect slave will obey his master without complaint we should be that way ... however a worldly master needs his slave or depends on him, however God does not ... We serve Him to serve our needs. He is the Source of our pleasure and benefit and gain in every way ... so by doing those things that one may think results in the idea of God being portrayed in the way you put it ... really it is not ... it is through His Mercy that he cherishes us and raises our ranks when we know Him - to Know Him is fulfiling to us whether we know Him or not takes nothing from Him and gives Him nothing either.

At first I thought Mirch was being mean, but the way you have phrased your question, I am wondering if it's an intellectual curiosity or if you're depressed/suicidal. Suicide is NEVER better than life. NEVER!

Life exists. You can fill it with religion, reasons, purpose, love or hatred. Color it the way you wish.

Forget about the rest, enjoy the moment; or keep searching for THE truth; or setting a purpose for yourself (solve the String theory? Kill Osama? Eliminate hunger and poverty from the face of ****earth?) or a combinaton of these and other things is up to an individual....
