india we have bhrtha nataym ,katha kali and countless tribal dances.
what is native form of dances performed during happy occasions?
Dancing is not allowed. Neither is music, painting, chinese checkers and running willy nilly down the street. Also you have to ask either mushy or the local imam if you want to take a leak:)
(disclaimer-it's a joke people, don't get all bent out of shape)
may be bhangara dance is native dance of pakistani punjab too
let us here from pakistanis.
Actually we like to dress up '50s style and do the jitterbug.
Another 3 years and we’ll move onto the hand jive ![]()
Actually Bhangra(and luddi, jhoomar etc) is more native to pakistani side of the Punjab than Indian side.
there are various types of dances in each province.. dhammal in sindh, to khattak in sarhad, bhangra in Punjab, balochis have a diff type of dance.

Now my dear bro rvikz
u know low lifes exsist across borders ...u have to get down to there level to answer them.....
well! as fraudia said there is khattak dance ,bhangra , lewa ...but on weddings we people follow ur bollywood industry more religiously ....so ppl mostly dance on these songs....its more in the north.but in my opionion as far as punjabis are concerned they r much more patrioatic and would dance to some punjabi singers music and would perform bhangra.
I dont know much about other provinces, but I suppose those provinces bordring have dance styples shared by the Indian province they border.
So I suppose Punjabis on both sides of the Border share Bhangra, while Sinhis may share styles similar to those from Rajasthan and gujrat perhaps.
NWFP and Baloch would probaby share their styles with Afghanistan and Iran.
I dont think there is a single "Pakistani" style.
When we look at the cultures of Pakistan and India, we have to look at them in terms of Provincial heritage.
what is jhomar? can someone tell me..please and thanks :)

Among most of your initiated thread ,i found ,you are looking for mirror image of indian (BHARAT) counterpart in Pakistan .
You may be better off looking for odd ball similarities ,than expected ones according to what exsist in India
By now you must have noticed how full of rules Islam is opposed to Hinduism which is hard to define to say the least.
At one level everything that is done in India exsist in Pakistan but not all of them endorsed encouraged & celebrated in Pakistan (Hence your surprise)
I dont like to say anything is forbidden b/c no body becomes heretic for dancing or expeled as Ahmadiya or non muslim but its not somthing anybody wants to devote ther talent energy or money in.Remember with only 1/7th the population we already have cricket hockey poetry politics, union, drama, to waste time in .
I liked the way the late Allan Faqeer used to dance on that song with Mohammad Ali Shiekhi!!! Allah Allah, kar bhiya!!!

nigeria and indonesia are muslim countries but they are far apart.
there are many christian countries from austrila to zimbabuway still
everyone has own political and racial identity.

Funny that Nonmuslims (christian jews hindu ) have more problem with that than the muslims themselves. You yourself stress how much apart Indonesia & nigeria is yet predominant factor in both these countries is Islam ..may be African influenced in Nigeria & south asian in Indonesia
Pakistan is 1/3 India no denying that .& no need to deny that .Islam is not mindless religion that it will irrationally baselessly expect follwers to forget everything prior to 7th century .
Yet many aspect of Indian past due to some reason has been muted.May be with more liberalisation Pakistanwill do more embracing of Indian cultures like singing music dance music just as INDIA recently opened its economic market to globalization. If you crtique Pakistan think of India why it did not have an open market for greater of 40 yrs out of 54 years ??????
Changes & shift in policy comes with time & cannot be pushed prematurely for fear of RUPTURE disturbances & imbalance dangers.LIKE YOR SWADESHI NEEDED PROTECTION SO LONG.
gymno even india is 100% muslim pakistan have thier own identity
as you have found out bangalsesh anf west pakistan are toodifferent
despite the shaing ssame faith.
But we Muslims can live together, had it not been for you trouble makers... Did you see the last India Pakistan match in Bangladesh? The Pakistani zindabad, and Hindustan murdabad chants were very audible...
The way you treat Muslims, we are ready to have our own identities and are ready to part ways with you... We do not want to associate ourselvs with you and your religion in any way at all...
