never did a background check of the shaikh. mostly he writes/ speaks on geopolitics, in the light of Islam. i've not read much of his work. sometimes its very interesting though.

his real name is yacob jochim ben gurion, but goes by imran hussain.

Imran Hosein is a reknowned scholar who is an outspoken speaker on geo politics, his firm stance against Interest based banking in Islamic world and his research work on Gog and Magog (Tafseer of Surah Kahf).

Imran Hosein equates Gog and Magog with the Jews and he sided with the Syrian regime because of that … He has also said that Gog and Magog will be the army of Dajjal which is an opinion not shared by the majority ulema … He had some ties to Jamat Islami and broke away. I think he is Indian/Caribbean.

I have met sheikh imran in on of his book launch and he is a knowledgeable man mA....btw his position on syria is a reasonable one because sheikh doesnt believe that a genuine jihad against an oppressor b ever orchestrated by the israel and saudi duo....when satan tells u to eat tht apple as it wud do good to u then he still is the enemy u must b vary of....
