I currently use MAC’s Studio Fix liquid foundation and set that with MAC’s Studio Fix powder, and then when I get oily after 15 mins I dab some pressed powder on my face and use a million blotting papers. I’ve been using MAC’s foundations for years, I really like it but I can’t deal with the oxidation anymore. Spring is here, Summer’s around the corner and I really hate when I come back from a party looking 2 shades darker. So question is, which foundation other than MAC has good coverage and a good MATTE finish? Sheer matte will not do!
Also, I want a foundation that’s good for Asian skin tones, I feel like the reason I haven’t abandoned MAC is because they have the best colors for desi skin. I’m an NC35, so something around that shade.

I've never used foundation before but now I'm getting married so I want to start wearing foundation after that. Everyone I asked told me to get MAC so that's what I've bought. I've asked tons of people (including make-up artists) because I was affraid of looking cakey...they all suggested MAC studio fix.
To make your foundation stay in place and keep it clean....use a face primer before applying foundation. It works wonders (I tried it with and without). You can get a nice face primer from Sephora

Omg I know exactly what u mean! I'm in the same boat as u...i use mac foundations but still on the look out for that perfect matte foundation. have u tried the mac prolongwear foundation? Its Known to not oxidize and turn darker over time. I have it...it really stays on for a long time and doesn't oxidize however I don't find it to matte and full coverage. Its good for a day outside but not for a party. However it might be different for u...check it out!

MAC Full Coverage (Pro Only). Does not oxidise. NC is not too orange like Studio Fix. Best applied with a flat synthetic foundation brush, which is dabbed onto the foundation and brushed on the skin in quick strokes. You only need a little. But it's not good for dry skin.
I used to use SF fluid (and powder) and since I used Full Coverage for my wedding 2 years ago, have not looked back.

I have oily skin. I wouldn't say this makes my face more oily looking. But it's certainly not matte unless you apply a powder on top. The staying power and coverage are great and it doesn't reflect the flash, or photograph 'hot spots' much even if you are oily.
I believe it's discontinued as a regular product but is still available in pro stores. Try and get a sample first.
