The team is low on confidence and confidence comes from winning. They have yet to win a game on this tour. It is almost as if all of a sudden they have forgotten how to win games
Batting is the main problem and has been their nemesis throughout the tour. All the batters are woefully out of form. They seem unable to forge partnerships at the top of the order
Bowlers have delivered so far
Fielding has never been our strong point and we have won games despite our fielding in the past.
Re: What Is The Main Problem With Pakistan Cricket Team
It's something else.
They're always willing to sell out their country and their integrity, all for a quick buck.
I have a bad feeling that the only reason we won the Twenty20 was because they had sudden "pangs of conscience".. what with the country being in serious turmoil and all.
Re: What Is The Main Problem With Pakistan Cricket Team
AdHoc'ism is showing it's rewards
Short sighted steps in the recent past and we r now reapig the fruits of it
Still there is Time for a long Term Strategy
We need PPL with a Vision, a clear mindset and steadfast approach towrads the one and only goal which can only be to reach the Top of world cricket by performing on the field instead creating drama's off it
But oh well wishful thinking i guess
Re: What Is The Main Problem With Pakistan Cricket Team
I think its the Grouping which is causing a great problem for Pakistani cricket team. The cricket politics will destroy team.
Re: What Is The Main Problem With Pakistan Cricket Team
Too much T-20
Re: What Is The Main Problem With Pakistan Cricket Team
You have mediocre players like Malik, Misbah, Rao in the squad; that's your problem. We are OK with mediocrity (have been for the past few years); Malik is a "fighter", so we will keep playing him till the end of time, just as an example. We need to abolish this mentality and we need to pick players who are potential world beaters (the team in the 90's, for example). Teamwork can only take you so far; you need individually brilliant match-winners in the side just as importantly, and players like Malik are not going to cut it.
Load-shedding mai “vision” kaam nahi karta ![]()
Re: What Is The Main Problem With Pakistan Cricket Team
PPL you can have only to generate money. Moreover you got to see if players from other countries will come and play in Pakistan. In case of a neutral venue,I think yes, they will come.Once again it is not going to fetch any good for Pak Cricket. But cvertainly you can counter IPL influence. But again it depends on many factors.
Agree With You

Right on Zero-one.

agree.
This is a team that Younis Khan has essentially inherited. Over a period of time he will, (or should) have more creative control over composing the batting and bowling line ups. That will, imho, change things considerably.
Re: What Is The Main Problem With Pakistan Cricket Team
I Think The There Are More Than One "Main" Problems In Our Team.
One Of Them Is Captaincy Of Younis Khan.
He Is Very Defensive Minded Captain Which Is Costing Us.
He Was Very Defensive On 5TH Day Of The Last Test Where It Should Have Been All Out Attack. He Was Defensive In Last One-Dayer He Was Worried About The Runs.
We Need A Attacking Captain Afridi
It's something else.

Fortunately, this is one reason that we can easily rule out. It's much, much harder to get involved in match fixing than it was in the nineties. Plus, the players compensations (and endorsement fees) have increased drastically, thus minimizing the need to get involved with the bookies. Also, there isn't anyone in the current team from the match-fixing era, and the newer players have not been exposed to it.
