Re: What is the ideal population size for Britain?
i see, and agree that exploitation is two way - i dont think like a man, you know:>
u mean only men can look at both sides of the equation?
i happen to be a young lady with ethics.
are you implying that what I stated was unethical?
but goig back to the topic, the two way exploitation will be and is anti thetical to what we have seen in the history of colonial empire's expansion and its plundering sprees in the guise of development. so is true with the model of free market economy and corporate america's hegemony.
two way exploitation is a reality today and has been a reality, whether it was Pakistanis collecting dole from multiple councils in UK, or whether it is an illegal person in US who is not paying taxes but has his kids burdening the education system, and his family burdening the health system. Now you can say this illegal worker is also being exploted by his employer..which is true, but he has chosen to be in a situation where he is being exploited and there is one person exploiting him, however such person is exploiting his community who have no say.
but if we set aside this whole illegal immigration deal ands look at regular immigration, of course countries want people who will be productive and help meet some needs of the country, and people go to countries where they can get a good return on their skills or get the lifestyle or benefits they want.
on the other hand, if you were to compare, the influx of immigrants in the arab countries, specifically arabia and uae are treated differently than how they are in uk or usa.
quite differently, very badly infact.
