1 this current wave of immigration has been made possible by EU legislation to enable workers to work freely anywhere within europe. 'vast amounts' of people are coming into britain everyday. i dont know how long britain can cope with this.
2 there has been exploitation of these people by UK companies and people. a few pakistanis have used these people to work for them at horrendously low rates of pay.
3 there has been some amount of social welfare abuse by the newcomers, including claiming for children who are still in their motherland!
4 many of the eastern european people look exactly like pakistanis, which caught the rest of the population out for a while. ie they fitted straight in. polish immigrants (white) are more welcome. this has been edging towards another racial debate. people were led to believe mainly poles were coming in, by news coverage focusing on them.
5 this new wave of immigartion makes pakistanis 'just' another minority community again in numbers. the pakistani influence was growing real strong before this influx. at present the pakistani community are more established but the political influence will be damaged by this imigration as the newcomers become more settled
