Thanks for information.

My personal view was that both groups possess lands.. Chohdri are the local people and Malik are descendents of the outsiders like Arabs, as many Maliks (including Awans) claim to be descendent of family of the Prophet (SAW).

now this descendency business i don’t like to go into… every other caste claims descent from the arab… but my personal view is its all quite far fetched
no offence to anyone who likes to believes they are holy-progeny
