Does any one know what is the difference between Saraiki and Punjabi? If they are different languages can you give examples ![]()
They are different but in Punjabi & Saraiki some words of Urdu are common ..
Like
Urdu : Idhary aaiye or idhar aao
Punjabi: Ithay/Iddar Aa
Saraiki: Idday Aa
Urdu : Naheen
Punjabi: Nah / naheen
Saraiki : Ko
Urdu: tumheen sharam/ hayaa naheen hay
Punjabi: Tainoon Sharam naheen aandi/aaoundi aay
Saraki: Taiko Hayaa Kaini
So here we'll Pronounce Haya in saraki slang and Sharam in Punjabi slang so pronounciation is also a major difference
AS you have listened In Pakistan on every 20 KM we have different language so Saraiki of Mianwali and Bahwalpur is different like Pujnabi of Bhati Gate (Lahore) Lahore and Model Town is different.

Re: What is the difference between Saraiiki and Punjabi?
Saraiki has some words on sindhi in it. Anyone who knows Saraiki can speak & understand sindhi very well. Whereas Punjabi is purely based on punjabi words.
I have a friend who is from a small village of sindh and speaks sariki !
Re: What is the difference between Saraiiki and Punjabi?
Yea saraiki and sindhi are like sisters and punjabi is the elder maula jutt type brother :@:
The accents are also different. Saraiki is spoken mildly whereas punjabi has her own strong tone.
