what is the best sport ?

Baseball started in 1846, big boy. In 1869, the Cincinnatti Red Stockings become the first professional baseball team.

You think homers are flukes? What, you think every time Tiger hits the green from the tee, it's a fluke too?

Last pitch? heck yeah. It happens all the time. Last year, the Royals broke a record for consecutive "walk-off" wins - where in the last pitch, a homer decided the game, and the losing team has to walk off the field in shame.

by the way golf is fluke too.ya right usa was struggling with their shitty economy in 1846.get ur facts straight.americans were not foolish enuff to start baseball that early.whereas england was a rich country(even then) n thus easily could afford cricket.get ur facts straight.tiger is a fluke too.

“fluke”. The word does not mean what you think it means.

Astrofan and Game: What's wrong with you guys? You are arguing about what the best sport is? I tell you one thing: THERE IS NO BEST SPORT, BECAUSE THE BEST SPORT IS SOMETHING DIFFERENT FOR EVERYBODY.

So for Astrofan it's baseball, for the Game it's Cricket. I'm fine with that. For me it's running, but I wouldn't say it's superior to any other sport. I just enjoy it more than playing soccer, cricket, baseball or whatever.

Umer, the Pakistani Brain of Austria

Darn it, Umer. Why are you coming in the middle of a mostly worthless argument, being all peaceful and compromising? What's the fun in that?

UR rite buddy.....no fun in comprimising..

Baseball, homerun BULLs%@T.....
SOCCER rules...

soccer? Soccer? SOCCER? Are you kidding me? Those pansies pull up lame every time they fall down.

Baseball - only real men play baseball. When a 98 mph Randy fastball comes at you, then you know what it takes to be a real man.

abe hijray,
real men?jeter is a man?piazza is a man?get real.ur faggot randy throws ,doesnt bowl.if shoaib pitches a ball,he can reach 110 mph u white boy.only white boys like baseball.real men play cricker or soccer, not baseball.

oooohhhh, 110 mph. Too bad every cricket player has to wear full hockey gear to "protect" themselves. pfft. And then, they dink the ball on the ground ON PURPOSE !!!!

Any sabrematrician knowns "small ball" doesn't get you jack.

by the way, "sabremetrics" is the mathematics of baseball, for those of you who have to hide behind the simplistic game of cricket.

who gives a damn bout ur submetric shit?the biggest proof of baseball's faggotness is that the players use gloves to catch a ball whereas in cricket we catch a harder ball with bare hands.n we use protection because the contact is directly between batsman n bowler wheras in basegayball, the batter is like miles away from the ball.only his bat hangs in the air.if u r talking bout protection then why do the referees(or umpires)in ur basegayball wear so much protective gear.admit it u r losing out on points.son dont mess with us cricket lovers we can bang the shit out of u.

in baseball, the batter is 65 feet away from the pitcher. As for gloves - the only reason cricketers don't wear gloves is because they can't afford them.

Why do the umps wear gear? The umps aren't playing the game, big guy. Oh, and the ball is coming at them at 100+ mph after a foul tip, with absolutely no warning.

Who cares about sabermetrics? The best baseball general managers, like Oakland's Billy Beane, who understand that to build a team, you need on-base percentage and slugging percentage, and not necessarily RBI men or guys with high batting average.

P.S. - watch your language, please. There are kids reading these posts.

If only I could count the number of times ive heard the phrase...
"bottom of the night, two out, bases juiced, O'Neill at the plate, here comes the pitch,........."

For Me its cricket. One over can provide the excitement that a whole soccer match can't.
Though I like almost all other sports but cricket is the best and most interesting.

two sports i hate:

baseball and basketball.

only in baseball, or maybe bowling, you can call a guy who is over weight (david wells?) an athlete.

gimme a break, put the so called athletes thru a series of fitness tests, and most will fare badly compared to soccer players..

i think watching my hair grow is more exciting than baseball..its so frickin slow, it'll put you in a coma..

Soccer has to be the best game on this planet..then again, sports is a personal choice.

I think it was John Kruk who said, "I'm not an athlete, I'm a baseball player."

Nevertheless, the best athletes are swimmers. Second, believe it of not, are NASCAR drivers (!!!??!) Apparently, those guys really are fit.

But fitness is not the only measure of an athlete. Even a decathlon has feats of strenth, and ain't no way any soccer player is gonna beat a tree like Jeff Bagwell or Mark McGwire.

Astrofan, you mean trash car, try watching Formula 1 racing and you'll see which is better.

The game, why are you arguing with this stupid Indian junk if he doesn't know anything about his own national sport.

Thank you, come again

Hmmm, as a U.S. citizen, my national sport and past time is baseball. Why? What's yours? Paintball training, hmmm?

As for any sort of car racing, that ain't a sport.

umair u r right.i wont argue with a hindu.i think he prefers baseball coz his team india sucks so much at cricket that he gets ashamed when he mentions bout indian cricket.ok astrofan,no more debate.i didnt know u were hindu.no more talking with hindus.

Ur rite Umair......Formula1 rocks big time...

Neither Nascar or Indy are any match to Formula1

Dis Astro guy is obssesed wid Baseball.......the most boring game ever...even boring than golf.

Those losers spend three quarters of the game trying to go for a homerun......its pathetic.

Cricket on the otherhand is a much more technical game.....perhaps it is the most technical game out there.
