My friend recommended it to me yesterday, I have watched a few videos on youtube. Does anyone here use it? What is the rave about? I use studio fix by mac at the moment and do miss a liquid foundation sometimes. Tell me more!!

I have the double wear light foundation, not the original one. I like light coverage and that too for weddings and big events. Usually I just wear a bb cream. The double wear light gives a nice glow to the face and doesn't look cakey. It's long lasting.

The original has been around a longg time and was known for giving flawless full coverage and being able to last several hours without a touch-up..
I used it in my teens for a while when I had problem skin but nowadays there are plenty of other foundations with medium or full coverage that do just as good a job if not better.. It will give a lot more coverage than MAC Studio Fix but can look cakey if too much is used and you need to work quickly as it dries fast.. I also used to find the glass bottle packaging without a pump annoying (the MAC pump does fit it tho).. Kat Von D, Mehron and MAC do full coverage foundations which I like better than the DW.. there are others too..

I used to use it a few years ago, looked okay but the shades looked too pink on me. Looks like the shades have improved since then but haven't gone back to it since. Coverage was okay, but not amazing.

People with oily skin like it. It's very long lasting and matte (to a point I don't think you can wear with out contour and highlighting because it becomes so 1 dimensional).
I bought the double wear light for my mother and it weird, masky and orange. A swatch on my arm lasted for 24 hours though.
It's a classic for oily skinned people but I think the foundation technology is a bit old and there are more foundations in competition now.

I tried it at a counter and it did nothing for me other than make me look cakey and mega yellow! I really don't understand the hype tbh. I think it would be better suited to those with problematic skin...there's really no need to wear it if you have normal skin.

Till date it is the longest lasting foundation I've ever used. Perfect for long workdays. The coverage is decent and can be applied with a light hand if that's what you're going for. You can mix a small bit of it with other foundations--I've found doing so can make them last longer as well. I'd recommend applying it with a Beauty Blender.

Its so heavy in coverage the only person i can imagine needing to wear it is scarface :p no one needs something that high coverage!

thanks for the replies. I never look at Estee Lauder counter I feel it is a bit old school but my friend hyped it so much I thought maybe it was something new but apparently it's been around a while.
