Neither science wants to improve your faith nor faith requires or dependent upon endorsement of science.Sadhu i don't know your faith as yet,but seems like you are more toward agnostics /aeteist than any religion at all.
See science has been utilized to benefit our goals of ambitions like conquering with dealier atom bomb orentertain with digital video or ease our eating transporting ,feeling by microwave ,efrigerater,cars planes etc.Impressive as it may be to you ,Religion is for the SOULS ,spirituality ,above the physiacl needs & comfort.
Science has never invented any religion or its substitute ,it will neither say that there is no god,& also not say there is one ,as they say our job is not to look for him.THeevfore they would not rule out go

Face up .i have heard your friends mock moslems for praying to get Hoor & god knows bull shit of boys for gay muslims pleasures & Men for women. Let me tell you the idea of praying for some prize does'nt occur in the minds of any moslems. We are not kids askng our parents for priveleges in return for 'good behaviour'Prayers are repentences for your sins & purification of your soul from accumulated failures to live upto the expectation of allah.If you know less ,speak less you might learn what you dont know.
