I have few question about Islamic concept of physical hijab or parda ( don’t know the correct terminology) regarding women.
What regards as parda?
what parts of the body should be covered?
And how important is it? Meaning is it farad or not?
I would appreciate if answers are kept short and concise so I actually read them to get this information.
Re: What is Physical concept of Parda in Islam?
it all about to hide attractive curves and hairs so male member could not enjoy the beauty of women.
Re: What is Physical concept of Parda in Islam?
yeah think about by-pardigi... like all of it... from every angle..
parda is total opposite of it.
Next religious question please...
Re: What is Physical concept of Parda in Islam?
So head to toe covering?
Re: What is Physical concept of Parda in Islam?
So head to toe covering?
pretty much what nuns wear.

you can display your face, hand (after wrist), use lose clothing to hide bosom, and dont display ankle too. it is haram for women to show flesh to na-mehram.

Women need to cover hair as well right? And is it farad? How important is it?

I believe it is mandatory to cover hair too.
Re: What is Physical concept of Parda in Islam?
Thanks STA.
I wonder then why many self righteous muslim khawateen especially from Pakistan don’t cover their heads yet have never to point fingers at others.
Part two:
Can a muslim husband make his wife to do parda and cover her head? Should he?

Yes, he can instruct her to do so, and he should implement this parda thing through love, affection, sincerity and politeness. He should be role model and present his own example(religiousness, lowering gaze, salah, soom, conduct, etc etc) so that her wife could also get inspiration too.
Re: What is Physical concept of Parda in Islam?
Peace bebo,
If we read verse 31 from Chapter 24 and verse 59 from Chapter 33 than we’ll came to know that the need for modesty is the same in both men and women. But on account of the differentiation of the sexes in nature, temperaments, and social life, a greater amount of privacy is required for women than for men, especiall in the matter of dress and the uncovering of the bosom. Moreover, covering from head to toe (except eyes) is for all Muslim women, those of the Prophet’s household, as well as the others. The object was not to restrict the liberty of women, but to protect them from harm.
Same as above explained/ordered in many hadith too and Yes Men were ordered to tell their wives to do parda.
p.s. I liked this video clip.
Re: What is Physical concept of Parda in Islam?
Concept of Parda/Hijab is not just for women. Unfortunately, our male dominated societies have put so much emphasis on parda and its implications on females that it almost looks like a topic just for women. This is absolutely False and Wrong.
Hijab or Parda is mandatory on both males and females with their respective na-mehrams. Each gender has different body structure and different private body parts so the implementation is different.
When we talk about parda, we should also discuss parda of males that they should observe too.
Re: What is Physical concept of Parda in Islam?
As far as physical parda is concerned, regular clothing for men covers it all. So its not a big issue for men as oppose to women. I don’t see many muslim guys not observing their physical parda but heck lot of muslims girls are without theirs.
Re: What is Physical concept of Parda in Islam?
Peace bebo,
Maybe the reason is that they think they are liberate in such way. :)
Re: What is Physical concept of Parda in Islam?
a muslim girl if not doing pardah....attracts men ofcourse....
so the ankhon ka pardah...if a male is looking at her staring her....is gunah coz he is staring....
while the same amount of gunah will be added for that woman who has not done pardah!...
so its better to be in pardah...that is cover private parts n hair....wear lose clothes....
