What is Perversion to you?

A little history behind this thread. I started 2 threads in Life forum, based on religious reference (acceptable by some and not by others which is perfectly fine). Threads had no sexual implications. But I was called pervert, sicko and what not.

On the same time, I have seen threads that talks about bodily functions, gay crushes, physical aspects of opposite gender that attracts you … and all those threads have received a good participation.

This is what wiki says about perversion.

Am I right to believe that when I started a conversation with religious quote, it was taken as a serious deviation from normal human behavior by some, hence I was called a pervert?

My question is this. What defines perversion? When you use that word on GS, what is that you see in the poster that forces you to define him/her using this term.

  1. I think many people use the word pervert when they have nothing left to say in their mature discussion :D

  2. Some people use the word loosely just because they can...you know, we are all hiding behind our nicks and it gives us a chance to say whatever we can unlike in our real lives.

  3. Some people have low tolerance, some people are extremely sensitive.

I agree with you Niks. To me, calling names is the first sign of losing an argument. When person sees that they cannot come up with an intelligent reply, they take the easy route out. Started calling others names.
