~! What is peace?

Salam, A friend of mine sent this to me, And I thought it was very nicely compiled.

A reminder for all of us.

Ayatullah Jawwad Amoli says,

"There are various definitions of Peace or as called in persian/urdu ‘sukoon-e-qalb’. There are two kinds of peace:

Sukoot: Peace achieved through a stationary state. For instance, the water in a pond that might be at peace due to its stationary nature is termed as sukoot aab.

Izteraab: Peace achieved through desire. For instance, the revolving earth provides peace to all creation by inducing a system of night and day and iself is at peace by remainig in its orbit.

Quran says, “Kullo falkayeen yasbahoon” (They all float in space).

Love of Allah does not bring sukoot. When a community is in sukoot, it means it has chosen other loves rather than the love of Allah. The west seems at peace of this kind as it has choosen ‘shahwa’ (life of lust) as their love and so their peace is of a stationary nature. Nothing new happens in the field of spirituality and human development.

The love of Allah creates ‘Iztaraab’ (desire to peace by motion) and so you see spiritual communities or Godly communities seek peace in motion. When they knock the door of their heart, they seek peace. In tabligh they seek peace, In Ibadah they seek peace, in every action they seek peace. To them peace is motion and lighting up candles with their own fire of spirituality is peace and not by extingusishing fires.

Sukoot takes away feelings while izteraab rekindles feelings.

A sukoot pond has insects and bacteria, frogs and flies that accumulate on this sukoot pond. Sukoot communities are only made use of by humans of insect and reptile like nature, the tyrant and oppressors who live their till sukoot lasts and the pond is dry. Such communities die soon.

An ocean that moves, will never be dried up and every river and drop of water will want to be a part of it as izturaab is a sign of love for Allah. So true lovers of Allah are always on the move to spread love."

Lesson: If you sit idle and claim you love Allah…you are mistaken.
