So we all know man is made out of clay and jinn is made out of smokeless fire but what about our soul?
***Can't say exactly but have you ever heard the term people use when someone dies? people say "Lights out"
so I say ones soul is part of the Light that we know Allah SWT created!***
Hmm, interesting question. I don't know the answer, but I might look it up to see if I find anything. Here is what I know about the soul though...
1) We've been advised by the Prophet SAWS not to delve to much into matters of the soul because it is something that is best known to Allah.
2) There's a hadith in which the Prophet SAWS said that souls existed in another realm in ranks or as conscripted soldiers. The souls that had an affinity with each other in that realm will connect with each other in this world (they'll get along). The ones that didn't have affinity with each other in that realm will repel each other in this world. There's another hadith where Hazrat Aisha (RA) told the Prophet SAWS about two women from different cities that bonded over a certain shared habit. To this the Prophet SAWS said that the souls which knew each other in the other realm will get along in this world. This is one of the coolest hadith I've come across and it makes me wonder if we really interacted (in a previous realm) with all the people that we have an affinity with in this world. It also makes me wonder if the level of closeness we have with people in this world has a directly proportional relationship with how much we interacted with them in the realm of souls. Some scholars have said that the hadith means that good souls recognize other good souls and bad souls gravitate towards those similar to them. But when you look at the hadith where Hazrat Aisha RA tells the Prophet SAWS about the two women, she doesn't mention their mutual goodness but rather another shared quality that they had which was not connected to piety.
3) All souls testified that Allah is their Rabb before they entered this world in their earthly forms.
Ooh very interesting. Thanks for sharing red.
soul is ''life''........and i think (may be wrong), in quran its written that Allah 'blew the life into humans' out of his own light.........so i guess, it is made of noor/light.......... now whether it is metaphorical or physical i don't really know.
**A question, that is may be good to ask but surely wrong to answer.
This question actually opens door of fitnah....The reason is, No one knows about it, so the answers will always be like 'I think, He thinks, They think, We think etc...'
So, I would not like to interfere my mind into something where shetan begins to play with minds and tries to inject fitnah into minds...
There is an Ayah in the Holy Quran that explains this matter in whole and thats too very briefly....
So, the best answer is the one thats in the Quran. Even Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) replied with this Ayah when asked the question related to the soul/spirit by the jews of Madinah.
Narrated `Abdullah:
While I was going with the Prophet (ﷺ) through the ruins of Medina and he was reclining on a date-palm leaf stalk, some Jews passed by. Some of them said to the others: Ask him (the Prophet) about the spirit. Some of them said that they should not ask him that question as he might give a reply which would displease them. But some of them insisted on asking, and so one of them stood up and asked, "O Abul-Qasim ! What is the spirit?" The Prophet (ﷺ) remained quiet. I thought he was being inspired Divinely. So I stayed till that state of the Prophet (while being inspired) was over. The Prophet (ﷺ) then said,
"And they ask you (O Muhammad) concerning the spirit --Say: The spirit -- its knowledge is with my Lord. And of knowledge you (mankind) have been given only a little)."
Hadeeth: Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadeeth No.125
Another translation of the same Ayah
And they ask you, [O Muhammad], about the soul. Say, "The soul is of the affair of my Lord. And mankind have not been given of knowledge except a little."
Surah 17, Ayah 85**
Interesting question indeed. And from the answers its obvious this information is very less known. I'm sure there must be people who have researched on it before. May be one of them may help.
